Spent about 2 hours with it yesterday, and I think I'm done. Graphics are nice but every other aspect of the game feels old or overdone. Far from impressed on this one.

Impressed maybe by the graphics, but definitely not by the game design. So its a game that will last a couple of days and then be forgotten about.

For me it depends on how the pvp is. To that point, I'm more interested in the castle sieges. It's a shame there aren't old school dungeons (not instances for your party).

My thought is that the developers put so much time into the world that they didn't have much time for "much else".

Its alot better then Archeage at least. Major focus on guild verus guild or even multiple guilds versus 1 guild so politics matter alot. Heavy grinding mmo wich for me is a + so i dont need to slay dragons or swipe a credit card to gain better gear. If you are not a member of a serious pvp guild you are going to have a rough time in BDO unless you are in a massive alliance. Just praying our western buy to play version doesnt get a pay to win cashshop or its game over already.

I keep looking at how polished things are with the look. Like foot prints in the mud, when it rains things look wet and I wonder if they had spent a little less on that and gave us other features if I would be more interested. We will see, may be awesome!

And whats with the gender lock in this day and age. You cant call it a AAA mmo with such a deal breaker as that.

Because why? Why can't designers design how they want and players or "consumers" take it or leave it? Besides, each sex has a corresponding class.

Even way if they don't over done there cash shop and make sure that the game more NA on the favor then it will grab good amount people from every mmo. But there going make there money some how as was not cheap of them to hit the NA/EU market.

Ya there really isn't genderlocking when a Wizard and a Witch have the same skills. I would like to know the lore behind why the giant race only has males?

So we can safely say that MMOs have now gone for max graphic and figured it does not work ?

So may we finally be past that one ?

Dang. I thought I was pretty harco'-fo-lyfe, but DayZ def isn't a game I'd say hands you everything... Does that mean I turned into a dirty carebear and didn't even realize it?!

This is exactly what bothers many of us at this site....Overhyping games that are in Alpha.....

Well, no, it means you can't have a game that doesn't have things to do. If Black Desert Online had graphics more attuned to lower end machines but still kept the same game play, any issues would still be issues.

LOL, this site is about MMO info. If you are sick of getting hyped up about MMOs just stop coming here =-) Reading between the lines here, I am sold on trying this game for free. So if I get into a beta or a trial code, I will be there. If not, I will pass.

It will definitely be fun for the first month or two, beyond that.... probably not from what I've heard. Regardless $50 for a couple hundred hours of relatively entertaining gameplay is more than worth it for me. Besides there is the off chance that I might actually enjoy the game enough to continue playing beyond the apparently extremely limited end game.

Sure hope it will offer wizard class at start. Russian version had no such luxury.

BDO is currently on 84 place in KR charts. Game failed very hard. There is nothing in this game except graphics, but MMORPG's don't need such luxury.

This is kind of one of the worst first impressions I've read in a while.... I mean half the article is pointless and then when the other half does get to the point it doesn't even give much info about the game. Like what's up with that author?

    Smile

So can I say I told you so now? I take a lot of heat here because I hate pretty much every game that comes along. I get called a Troll and worse, but sadly the truth is every game that comes along these days is crap. Lazy does not even begin to describe what has happened to mmo design. It is almost like a racket, a con job designed to separate us from our money with as little work as possible. Almost like a criminal enterprise designed to defraud the consumer. They take a piece of crap, paint it with glue then roll it around in sparkles to make it all pretty and shiny on the outside. At least this time it did not cost $150 to find out all you are buying is a turd, some glue, and a tube of glitter.

well, i got a key and was pretty hyped but after playing it... Its not teribble but its not good. The graphics are nice and flashy and the animations are good. The combat is nearly a carbon copy of C9 (some of the old staff worked on C9) which is good but for the warrior atleast there are very few skills and i can image that combat will result in spaming the same 3 attacks. the UI... is a mess. Its a barrage of arrows, lines and cryptic icons. PvP wise theres too much zipping around (esp with blader and ninja on the horizon). I dont think the game will fail but i cant imagine it will overly sucessful, maybe something akin to ESO

Articles are pretty much meaningless now a days with gamer's streaming on Twitch. You can sit in Twitch for an hour or so and see everything you need to see about BD.Seeing for yourself is better than trying to paint a picture in your mind from what someone is writing.

I already watched lots prior but last night like a brain dead ,i also went into Sodapoppin's channel and watched him play err spend most of his time customizing his female character.

I actually thought it was a room full of teenage boys with immature minds,it was a constant argument over weather his female character looked good enough.Umm your a guy playing a female character, that is already weird enough.

None the less once the gaming began it was extremely boring, typical running to quest npc's.

The town reminded of NWO the npc's pretending to be doing repeated actions gets old real quick. Now if they actually walked around elsewhere it might be impressive but they stand sweeping the same piece of ground forever or stabbing a dummy with a sword forever. Those npc's cannot replace real players and to be honest for a rush to Beta it looked dead from real players.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
