Trion has announced that ArcheAge servers will be rolled back to the state they were in prior to yesterday's deployment of the v2.0, Heroes Awaken, update. Many players were unable to log into the game due to a Glyph authentication error. As a result of the rollback, Marketplace purchases and APEX purchases will be refunded. The update will be deployed again today, though utilizing staggered launch beginning with European servers.

ArcheAge is not a easy game to publish like for example a standart mmorpg like Rift.

Its a open world with alot of contested features like own land for example. If wasnt for this the launch will keep going, some get in in the 1st seconds, others few minuts later, and wasnt any problem at all.
But they want to give the same opurtunity to everyone and that means all need to get in in the 1st seconds, to be honest i dont know if that is possible, ArcheAge is not that dead, theres still alot people playing wich means there will be a huge load connecting to autenticator servers at same time.

Im not defending them, im sure theres better companys around to handle a game like ArcheAge, but at least they are trying this time, if they can make or not its other story.

Lets see how it goes today, but my hope is really low to be honest.

I agree, they should never have published this game. I wish they would reconsider publishing Devilian too..

Trion is not the developer of AA, they are publishers who only translated texts in game for western understanding and they are handling game servers, which is as close as it gets to being a "developer" of AA for them.

RU 2.0 version went up on Monday. They had some problems with players disconnecting and some servers needed an extra maintanance, but nothing major that needed a Roll back.

RU version also requires a launcher like Glyph to run.

that doesnt matter one bit by, by charging players money and taking it they have a fuggin responsibility to them to provide a a working product and quality assuarnce , If they were stupid enough to go into an endeavor where they accept money but tied there own hands to provide a working product on a consistent basis they are to blame ...  And yes they can still test it before its released to the NA servers ... We are all aware they arent the Dev but that doesnt give them a pass on providing a working Product that they accepted the responsability for ..

The five English-speaking people that still support this game disagree.

devs don't test 3rd party products.

Trion devs have nothing to do with ArcheAge.

All testing is done by QA.

You do realize that rollback is a *good* thing in this case?

Doubt it would be any different with any other publisher. They got a game to publish that is essentially designed-for-cheating with deep fee2pay traits, quite bugged and with insane mountains of mindless korean RNG/casino on top (likely bigger than in any other f2p korean mmo on the market). The game that steered so far away from its initial design it's almost funny (or sad, depending on PoV).

Played Archage since beta till 7 months ago. They didnt learn anything from the past. Will never touch a trion game again. ( extreme short version of the so many extreme big mistakes they made ).

    Different issue entirely.

The issue was with Glyph and ArcheAge only (other glyph games worked fine).

Also this was a merge + 1.8+2.0 all done at once.

The reason why they rolled back is to be fair to players who had login problems, not because of a code issue needing a rollback.

Again this rollback is what 90%+ of playerbase wanted to see.

I will agree that it is their responsibility to provide a solid game but it is completely impossible to predict what kind of mess an online game will face when thousand upon thousand players try to login at the same time and try doing their own stuff all over server at the same time. Just by running a 100 people internal test would never have gotten them any idea and after their alpha they changed up a lot but still that was not enough once the massive number of players that was a thousand time more than alpha population entered the game. You can bring up argument that the game was live in korea for 3 years but korean online game server structure and client structure are totally different than in NA and Trion is suffering for it.

Also, when you speak like a ho chances are that you are ho...

First come first serve for plots is a recipe of a disaster and UO suffered from the same flawed design. Certain plots/houses should be obtainable after a certain status/wealth a player obtains not handed out on first come basis.

still required to have an active subscription and pile lots of money into the cash shops though. This is why i dropped out of the game, its a pure money sink. Add to that the fact that the game has not done that well anywhere that it has been released in (Dissapointment) and that they are trying to get it going but not at that cost tag it has to get stuff. Either have a cash shop or have a subscription but NOT both.

Disagree 100% - they learned from Auroria launch that when players can't log in - rollback is the only option.

Auroria was a mess because those few who logged in profited, this was done right. Rollback is what  players wanted and got.

that is learning from past mistakes

I almost feel sorry for XLGames and Trion. Then I remembered that I already gave them $100. Now I feel sorry for myself.

I agree until the last line. i don't see any problem with cash shops as long as it has no negative effect on the game. But AA cash shop is ultimately a overbearing mess, they could go a pure cash shop road like korean version but that would not work here, subscription for AA is just like giving a few bonus for less but ultimately they want us to buy from cash shop...

I agree with you mmo in general should not have a sub + cash shop, but is not stopping to close to all the mmo doing it soon, not only free to play base.

The limited number of land plots is a basic design element of ArcheAge - this was made to promote real estate competition as at the core ArcheAge is a guild competitive game.

They could have easily made it to where every player was guaranteed certain # of plots - but again the limited land plots are INTENTIONAL to promote competition.
