Any browser games like Ogame, but better?

Trolldefender99Trolldefender99 Member UncommonPosts: 416

Anyone know of any browser games like Ogame, but better? Maybe not so payment based. I hate cash shops that have items that only last a limited amount of time...its kinda fail. Illyriad does it too, but at least their cash shop isn't overpowered and more of a donation, than paying to win. Plus, you can earn in-game currency once a day, to go toward paying for cash shop items.

Ogame is nice, and I do like it. But anything better out there, thats like Ogame?

There are, I used to play a game called Astro Empires some time ago. It's very much the same idea, but with no pay2win. Though you eventually have to pay a monthly fee to keep competitive. Sadly the game is crap unless you get in on a new server on day 1. Starting so much as 1 day late will make you target practice for others.

To find an intelligent person in a PUG is not that rare, but to find a PUG made up of "all" intelligent people is one of the rarest phenomenons in the known universe.

yeah, kind of same problem with Ogame. Though I started on a server that isn't very populated or active...so I don't get pwned right off the bat.

That was the other problem I had with Ogame. But not so much now...

Maybe its just a problem with the type of genre they are...I did try Astro...and while it was pretty nice for not being pay to win...it was play to be pwned :P I even joined an alliance and still get pwned lol...

A lot of browser strategy games seem to have that problem. Actually, a bigger problem than just pay to win...or at least just of a big of a one. Though joining an alliance usually helps (not always)...or getting lucky in a starting location or choosing a lesser populated server or both.

Edit: Nevermind, mixed up the games, I was thinking Battlefield Heros which is the P2W game.

    Bumping this one for me.

I'm looking for a good browsergame like Ogame. Build and some warfare or trading stuff.

And ideally, a game that also has an app for android.

WorldAlpha will have some of these elements.  It is more social based, so you will have to join up with others to create cities and nations.  It will have an indepth economy, engaging politics, and a intense military module.  Should be in closed beta by November.  See link in sig.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Thanks, not sure if it's what I'm looking for since I can't test it out.

But I signed up for BETA so I'll see more soon.

    More?

Just wondering if you had a chance to join one of our 3 closed betas.  What did you think?  We have another one coming up Jan. 24 to 27

    Thanks,

A good space themed, strategy MMO to check out would be Starpires (http://starpires.com)  While the setup is different that oGame, we get a lot of oGame players that really enjoy the depth of strategy and PvP aspects of the game.

@Isasis I agree with you, I feel your pain. I played some OGame for a while, and Astro Empires. They are imbalanced games where the ppl who have been there for a while dominate without any way to get away from them or change the status quo.

I got so fed up with games like those that I started making my own game like it!

Hello guys, so i have read the comments and i have not seen the top browser games i can think off to satisfy your needs.

Disclaimer: Some may sound P2W but they are not. Believe me i have played them for quite a while now.

So going head on to the list we have:

    - Call of War

    - Supremacy 1914

    - At War Game

    - Conflict of Nations

There you go, these are only Browse games, but they do have the option to download for pc and mobile.(some)

Hey! We are building an online strategy game called spacealpha.net!

    i
ts inspired by Minecraft, OGame and Galactic lords.

The idea is to make a sandbox strategy game, so for example, the weapons will be evolved over time by players, etc

its still in alpha version but its pretty cool already.  The map is 3d interactive in real-time!

    Come check us out:

    Hello, fellow OGame lovers.

I've played OGame since 2011, but a lot has changed, and let's be real, not for the better.

So in my search for a similar game I have stumbled on this strongly community-driven game in making.

It's called PlanetQuest, a blockchain, NFT based game. Free to Play and Play to Earn.

If you want to check it out, I would appreciate it if you used my invite link:

    https://planetquest.io/join/referral/f8aece132e0b9c7c9cb9b9e27f5b2f36bd9b2ae5d30b57339206c100c3dfe943

And join the discord, as I said, the game is not finished, so there is a lot going on in discord with explanations to everything, and you can even vote on the path the game will take.

    Hope to see you there.

Sorry for digging up an old thread - but I'm working on a game that is heavily inspired by games of the early 00s, before OGame came around (though very similar in nature). I have three main goals for the project:

    * Not pay to win (subscriptions only), but subscribers unlock "quality of life" features, such as notifications.
    * Gorgeous artwork and presentation
    * Addressing the various game design concerns of the existing encumbent titles (such as joining galaxies late, poor player protection mechanisms.etc.)

I do have quite a bit of info on this, and am writing a lot about the game and it's development over at https://halcyon-online.com - so why not hop over, subscribe, and stay up to date with what I'm doing :)

There is nothing to this game though. Its non existent. At least other indie MMO's have something to show. I can't find any gameplay

Sorry if it was unclear - no, there's nothing there yet in terms of gameplay, but I have written about what you can expect. The site is about documenting the project and getting players who may be interested in following its development for when I launch in 18-24 months, which will happen (this isn't my first rodeo in large, complex applications).

For the game to succeed, I do need a lot of interest, so I'm starting that process now :)

If you want details, you can see how long I've been wanting to do this project here: https://halcyon-online.com/welcome-to-a-lifelong-dream/

You can read an overview of the game and what it is here: https://halcyon-online.com/halcyon-online-a-primer/

    Hope that helps!
