Some rhetorical questions about Chronicles of Elyria, Crowfall and Revival funding.

Chronicles of Elyria

* Operating on $500k budget. It's very clearly in a marketing and hyping stage right now, preparing for private investors or crowdfunding in 2016. Do investors get attracted to such ambitious innovative MMO projects easily?

Crowfall

* Has generated almost $2.3 million according to the total funding meter on the website. How much went into marketing and attempts to attract more crowdfunders? Is the initial hype fading among gamers and opportunities to generate more crowd funds decreasing for the company?

Revival

* Game funded almost completely by company's other sources of revenue. How secure and big is that funding? What happened with the Star Citizen contract? Did Illfonic get the $3.8 million that CIG had budgeted for their contract? Was their Armored Warfare contract with Obsidian Entertainment a significant one? Do they put any revenue from success in recording and music industry into their game projects?

    Rhetorical questions you say?

The point is whether these ambitious games can rise and gain momentum to challenge games with eight-figure budgets.

They don't need "momentum".  They simply have to produce FUN games...

Serious MMO games with ambitious plans aren't exactly Flappy Bird or QWOP. Need momentum in funding to prevent collapse before the finish line. :pleased:
