Sure, it is something the players have worked for together.

I do prefer when guilds have a limited number of players though, when guilds become too large it feel more like a faction than a group of allies and friends. Having hudreds or even thousands of players take away a lot of what makes guilds fun.

Quantity wise - no. That will end up flooding the economy with extra goods and drive prices down. A good compromise would be to make the actual gathering/harvesting process faster (Mine a node in 2 hits instead of 3, or whatever) or provide QoL benefits that wouldn't otherwise be available to a solo player.

I voted no because I don't like guilds or games designed around them.  Guilds are for group-focused games and I'm a solo player.  However, I have no problem with this kind of guild membership reward existing in a heavily group-focused game which doesn't try to also attract solo players.
I want to help design and develop a PvE-focused, solo-friendly, sandpark MMO which combines crafting, monster hunting, and story.  So PM me if you are starting one.

As Lyrian said above QoL bonuses are fine, if the bonuses directly affect various gains such as Exp and currency then no. I'm normally a guild-less player as are many of the friends I make on games. I don't like to feel tied down or obligated to a guild partially because of medical issues and crappy middle of nowhere internet. Hell last guild I was in I got kicked for being in the hospital for 8 days with prior notice. So I might be a little biased on the issue.

Anywho back to the topic at hand. QoL things such as guild banks, faster travel, and anything else my brain is refusing to think of feels like it should be a guild thing. Earning 7 Exp and 6 (insert usually unoriginal currency name here) instead of  5 and 4 is not something I'd go for.

Yes, IMO it encourages people to group and be sociable. Loke666 above said it best.

All my opinions are just that..opinions. If you like my opinions..coolness.If you dont like my opinion....I really dont care.

    Voted Yes

Obviously the devil is in the details, so would depend what the perks were and how they were awarded. But, in principal, anything that encourages people to group up and socialise in an MMO is a good thing and helps to build a better community and thus sustain the game for a longer period of time.

    I'm against it.

There's something not quite right about two characters who do the same task, but get different rewards, because one player has a guild tag, and another doesn't.

And that's really what we are talking about when we talk about giving perks to those who happen to be (or who are lucky enough to be) in guilds: we incentivize the possession of a tag, but we can't ever incentivize the intangible aspects that a lot of people associate with the tags (sociability, community-driveness, etc.).

It is a mechanic that seems vulnerable to abuse.  I can just imagine some fellow who goes on a raid for three hours, the guild leader kicks the player right before the boss battle, and the player so booted gets the lesser reward.  I also see a whole lot of folks just going into placeholder guilds just to get the rewards.

Im OK with whatever makes guilds a better system. I have no reason to join guilds if all im getting is a new chat channel.

I'm perfectly fine with it, MMORPG's are about interacting with other players, and anyone who eschews this experience is doing it wrong.

Yes, I know there's a lot of bad guilds out there, but I've never had an issue in countless MMO's to find a good guild and I'm fairly anti-social person (well, not really, I just hold most other people in contempt) who loves to solo a lot.
