How to start the free trial?

Hey folks
I looked all over the forumns and asked customer support, but they nay be a while getting back to me. I googled ffaar trial, brought me to the offical FF aar page where i downloaded the installer. I created an account, and activated my newly created account..
I am able to login with my username and password on their website. When i try to login to the installer it tells me i have not registered a service account. The website only asks me to enter a game code.
Is there still a free trial?

Was the client you downloaded named ffxivsetup_ft.exe? If not then you downloaded the full game client. The FT client should have had you create your trial account upon installing.
