Star Wars: The Old Republic: Togruta Race to Become Playable with v3.3 Update

SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

Bioware has confirmed that the Togruta race will become playable beginning with the v3.3 update that will be deployed on Tuesday, July 21st. Interestingly, devs also revealed that headgear on Togruta, because of the appendages on their heads, will be hidden, opening the way, the post said, for "other species down the line who have 'head things going on'."

Oh yeah they're strikingly similar but they're not when you give them a closer look.

    Twi'lek Example:  (Aayla Secura probably)

    vs

    Togruta Example (Ahsoka Tano):

Togruta's are hot. And they have the models already from the companions.

Well, I am not surprised since they are very easy to add in. Clothes will fit without any reworking (which of course is why they didn't add wookies instead, then they would have to make a new set of gear for them).

I am just surprised they didn't add them from the start, not much work and there are plenty of Togruta fans around.

I think the original devs got hung up on the helmet issue, and on the clipping that's no doubt about to ensue. That, and keeping the headtails for freaking out like crazy during cutscenes.

Now they just said to hell with headgear, we'll just auto-hide it for this species. image
