If Darkfall went buy-to-play would you try it?

Personally - hell yeh.

I miss my darkfall, but it needs a decent population to make the game worthwhile playing.

 

 

Playing: Darkfall New Dawn (and planning to play Fallout 76)
Favourite games have included: UO, Lineage2, Darkfall, Lotro, Baldur's Gate, SSX, FF7 and yes the original Wizardry on an Apple IIe

    They have announced they are going to change it to "free trial" which IIRC sounded kind of like the SWTOR model. That would suit me fine if they copy the Cartel Coins idea because they have Selentine Coins already for their cosmetic cash shop.

     

    The game also features same system as Eve, where you can play for free if you aquire PLEX type items called "d.u.e.l."

    The free trial thing they said maybe in August/september, they want to improve the new player experience and hotbar systems (both of which are horrible for your average MMORPG player to adapt too) before they try to bring in massive new players.

     

    That said, it is a great time to start the game right now

    yeah there are players that do things in game for their subscription... like those duels or whatever so its already buy to play if you play a lot.
