He might not say the word, it does seem to be a continuous theme with him though. He always seems to have a problem with people speaking up about what they're paying for. I don't think entitled is a  far cry from what he's presenting in his opinions, saying the word outright or not.

    Dakeru

I believe a slot is "cheaper" to provide for them.

Well cheaper is a strange term for a virtual item which they can just keep on creating for free.

But I think you know what I mean.

    Amjoco

Exactly. The entire game should be free since it is virtual.

It was a comment on what he had said. It was snarky about the idea that because ArenaNet can create it for free that it is something that should be free. And to be honest, while it's probably fairly cheap to add a character slot, we all know it isn't free - just like every single other virtual item/texture/animation/bank slot/etc in the game. Just to develop adding character slots to accounts cost some amount to develop. Nothing they've done is actually "free" for them to develop.

They can create that for free - check - I said that

It should be free - Hm? Where did I say that?

They don't create it for free. There are actual costs - not only developing the platform to allow additional character slots, but also the cost in housing additional character. It's not expensive in the grand scheme of things, but it is not free for them. You should read the rest of what I wrote.

I ignored the rest because it didn't answer my question where I asked for this to be free for players.

Some thing I hàve always found hard to put up with is the amount of animosity, vitriol and ignorance in internet forums especially if someone is saying something disagreeable . We all have the right to complain and everyone does so when adults use such childish language as whining to describe people airing their thoughts this way it does turn me off to anything they write.

In this çase the GW2 players insulting people like myself for sticking up for our rights and the manipulation of Anet on customers has disgusted me. I work for a big Comms company and they are just as bad. If they  could murder complainers they would smother them in their sleep and cry at their funeral.

I'm playing ESO now and if they start to take unfair advantage I will move on again. To think I even would have bought HoT even though I play ESO had it been $15 less simply because thats the value and on my pitiful income that difference is a big deal.

Well isn't that essentially an implication that people expect "free stuff"? Which no-one from as far as I can see, has said. Not trying to drag the guy through the mud, but with so many defending him I figured i'd point that out. I just don't see how it's much different than "pulling the entitlement card".

If you consider the argument that because things are virtual that they are essentially free to create, it is obviously ludicrous. What Dakeru stated was, "Well cheaper is a strange term for a virtual item which they can just keep on creating for free." To drop a comment on top of it about how if you extrapolate it becomes ludicrous is completely valid in my opinion. He was showing that if you take his comment to a bigger scale, it falls apart. That is not the same as telling someone they are struggling with entitlement issues.

Am I the only one bothered by the fact that I am supposed to pay for an x-pack where I don`t know when it will come out and I don`t know much about it`s content other than what the announced at the reveal stream plus a bit of detail they dropped about those things.

    So what do we get:

    -Mastery System

-Heart of maguma (3 Zones, arguably maybe a bit bigger because of verticallity)

    -Specializations

    -1 new Class (Revenant)

    -Guild Halls

-Some PvP and WvW stuff (didn`t want to say improvements without knowing too much about it)

For me personally that is not very much stuff considdering a 50$ (50€ for me) price tag.

Especially since I don`t care very much about PvP and WvW.

My main class so far was guardian, and I didn`t like what they did with it`s first specialization (dragon hunter). If I want to play a ranger like class I would play a ranger. (just my opinion).

Ok this might sound strange to a lot of people, but here it comes. I am a dungeon crawler. I know the quality of GW2 dungeons are arguably not the strong suit of the game. I still enjoy mindlessly going through dungeons with my friends and socializing with them.

I think with the Aetherpath they showed that they can do a lot better. Problem still is that they need to work on the rewards of dungeons. Dropping specific skins in the aetherpath wasn`t a bad idea, the drop rate is just way too low.

Why don`t they have specific bosses in dungeons drop specific skinns? And that at a decent droprate. All would be fine, at least for me.

Especially increase the reward according to how long a dungeon path takes to finish.

    ------------------

    TLDR:

Not buying HOT till they reveal at least a Release window (e.g. q4 2015)

Not buying HOT with the info I have about the content of the expansion. I am not buying a black box without knowing what is inside.

Don`t care about PvP and WvW. What about dungeons?

    Where have you been?

Anet has said that there won't be any new dungeons in HoT.

I believe they don't even have a specialised dungeon team anymore.

Maybe they will add more fractals, but anyway I don't expect these to be available at launch,

or maybe they won't even add that.

As for the mandatory inclusion of all the previous versions in the price.

    It is what it is.

At least now they give you 1 character slot to play the Revenant without having to spend

more money or in game gold for that.

As  for the  release date my guess is sometime within the next 4-6 months.

I have read here on this site, that the MIGHT (probably) won`t be any new dungeons. Which would be unfortunate. GW2 might not be the game for me anymore :(

I never read a 100% confirmation from Anet that there won`t be any. Is there a source? -> link? If it is true, it would be nice to know for sure now.

Running the same old dungeons another 3 years isn`t an option for me.

Anet already has it rough by going with a feature-rich expansion vs. a content-rich one. The amount of features they're adding / changing is really good, but most players aren't going to appreciate that. They're going to either see 'why aren't there a ton of new dungeons' or 'why weren't these features in the original game'.

i am sure if the new features are fun enough for an acceptable amount of time then many of those that get to try it will appreciate it. if they are not fun enough however it won't matter how much time or effort Anet spend on them. the result is all that matters in these situations.

as for adding a slot, they could at least give us 400-800 gems instead of that and that would have more value. but i am sure defenders are gonna see my post as nagging or w/e cause god forbid people have rights to nag about something they used to love.

Hate to break it to you, but there won't be any new dungeons in HoT.  They don't even have a dungeon team anymore, and they disbanded it over a year and half ago i think.

Yeah it sucks, probably going to pass on the pre purchase, might have another look when it´s out. But for now I am happy playing ARK anyways, so no time for GW2. There`s nothing new really happening, so boring atm.
