Well maybe I had a different experience then you, but I mainly did WvW and it was all about teamwork. I'm usually a solo player, yet I had to work with other players a lot. I knew most pvpers on the servers because we had to act togheter.
With 5 ppl in dungeon we can see who is pulling his weight and who is not. In big events (Teq, Tri-Wurm) a lot of slackers can be carried. Well in some dungeons that also apply
While its fun from time to time those big event does not contribute to skilfull play. I am all for content for all kinds of folks but not having new dungeons/fractals is a big blow to hotw for me.
now: GW2 (11 80s). Dark Souls 2. future: Mount&Blade 2 BannerLord. "Bro, do your even fractal?" Recommends: Guild Wars 2, Dark Souls, Mount&Blade: Warband, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.
I wish GW2 would have abandoned the personal story, home instance, dungeons, WvW, the "living story", and all of the heart "quests" and gone-all in on the public events system.
sPvP was GW1's bread and butter, should be in GW2 of course. But the rest? Only a meaningless distraction from what should have been the core game - world events.
Events driven by logic and variables rather than sequences in the exact same order over and over again.
Events that spanned across maps and truly affected the world.
But no, they got scared. They backed down. They tried to offer too much to too many subsets of players.
One of the strengths of the game is its diversity.... You trying to change it in a one trick pony..
its a shame there will be no new dungeons.... Maybe they ought to have added true open world dungeons like in EQ...
and i really like the personall story content and both their pvp settings, if they ever leave them out, i am a goner..
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

[mod edit] You do know that shrinking the list is pointless because it unfolds seconds later. [mod edit]

I supose it's different if you are a PvE player?
Imma disagree.
