    Looking good!

Hopefully, the game will be better managed than that other Korean mess of a game (you know the one).

I totally agree and hope that its managed right because that's what hurt the game that should not be named. Most people don't know what features Black Desert will have and if it releases with all of this in game and working that would be amazing.

Some have already posted on other forums that BD is already dropping in popularity in Korea and is even lower than said game that shall not be mentioned by name and Tera.

Thats just the nature of mmos. At release the games will be packed and over time the population thins out. Look at games like Elder Scrolls, Star Wars, Guild Wars 2 and Wild Star.

Any chance in hell this game will be sub no cash shop? Looks amazing. But that can be ruined by a poorly implemented monetization model.

Cash shop so all we can do is hope its a good one that does not ruin the game.

ESO was the last sub only and no cash shop game until last month. I don't think there are any games left without a cash shop at this point period. Cash shops won, p2p only lost.

ESO had a cash shop from the beginning, just nothing in it.  I bought the palamino horse the first month it launched.  Now it has a more extensive cash shop and still nothing in it to buy except mount skins and some cosmetic outfits.   Some games can have very unobtrusive cash shops.  ESO, FFXIV and Secret World seem to fit that bill to me.

Its really a shame. I know many people who were looking forward to another try at a game like this after the Archage debacle. Unfortunately this game is just carrying on with all the worst parts of Archage. Still has a Labor/Stamina system, still all the P2W crap. Sure it does some new things. The weather systems are cool, and the crafting is alittle different, not better, just different. Economy is still a major part of the game with caravans and escorting instead of direct tradepack runs, but essentially its still identical.

I would be shocked if they even bother at this point to release an NA version, since the publisher is listed as the Korean publisher. They are losing interest in Korea, and without a "Western" publisher to make the necessary changes to the game, any game released will have the same issues Archage has dealt with. Its not all Trions fault, XL had ultimate control and wouldnt let Trion make the changes it needed to for our audience. Daum wont even bother trying, so the game never stood a change here in the US.

I think one of the biggest reason why Steparu is enjoying BDO, while many westerners are not is because he can speak a little Korean and is able to join a healthy active guild.

Being in a guild you can declare war on anyone through GVG, so you can pvp all day without getting Karma. Do the open man raids, the events and Castle sieges.

Westerners who play BDO solo their way and never join any guild, figure out pretty quickly that you can't solo gank other players without getting Karma, then at lvl 50 are faced with a massive solo grind to enhance their equipment and complain that there is nothing to do in the game.

That's why I don't try to play Korean games anymore. If I do its just to see how well it will run on my system but I will not try to level up a character and play. Guilds mean everything in games like this. I always tell new players in Lineage 2 that the most important thing is joining a good guild. Anyway its good to hear your opinion.  Stepura post videos almost daily of things like Raids and PVP. Only those who seek will find.image

Is there a system like the labor point system in Archeage in BD?  If there is, not interested.  Restricting the fun activities for subscribers behind a paywall is the newest form of greed coming from game developers and I dont want to support it.

Unfortunately yes there is, but the good thing about BDO's labor system is it's not used for every little thing. Only really needed for gathering materials yourself and raising intimacy with NPCs (and some other small things). You don't use it for gathering with workers, processing, cooking, crafting, or fishing. Also, there's some daily quests that give back some labor.
