F2P cannot post on forums.

Well this is funny I couldn't post on swtor forums and instead of just telling me in the error code I actually had to call the company then I had to email them and this was the response. And my reply.

Really sad that I have to go to another forum to discuss this game that I am currently playing.  Even worse when I have an issue and are in the process of deciding if I want to subscribe and I cannot get any help.  Maybe if the issue was resolved I would be more inclined to subscribe instead I'm faced with a few bugs and saying its not worth spending money just to see if it works now.  The same reason I quit WOW,  I did not trust that giving them money would solve the issues I was having.  I know you don't want to waste resources on free players but you eliminate any potential for making any money from a free player who is experiencing a bug ingame or just needs advice on how to play certain characters.  I will carry myself to other forums about other games and sometimes about this one which is free advertising for your company.  I found it very funny when looking to resolve an issue the forum moderators tell players to put in a support ticket.  Which is a waste of resources because if you just posted the fix on the forums they wouldn't be putting in support tickets all the time.  Yet if they ever want to have a problem fixed they must first be able to put in support tickets which costs money.  Yea that's not looking very good.

Hi there, Filmoret.

I have looked into your account, and it appears that you do not currently have a subscription. In order to post on the forums, you must be a subscriber.

Your account is otherwise in good standing, so if you become a subscriber again, you will have full posting rights.

Thanks!

Are you onto something or just on something?

Good because it would be a total mess if thousands of freeloaders start trolling and whining on forums. Reserving posting privilege to subscribers is absolutely OK imo.

Well, can you really blame them? It's better these days, but for a while the game had haters that would do anything to bring it down, and flooding support with false tickets sounds like a very good way to damage the company that they hated.

Anyway, if it's not an accounting issue or anything, you can always post it here. Or ask around in game to guildies or friends.

My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

The post above it beat me to it. Out of the 1 constructive post by a F2P player, there  would be an abysmal amount of trolls and bots.

This... I love games like SWToR has F2P players but given a voice often leads to threads crying about why isnt more free. The poop storm ends up breaking the community thats P2P and thats the backbone thats keeping the game going. F2P players can still send feedback just not on the forums.

I agree with the freeloaders part.  They have such a sense of entitlement that they shouldn't have to pay for anything and yet get all the benefits.
