Hey,
As the title says... I'm looking for game with classic tank class.
Not Sherman or T-34 tank ofc :P
I mean a fat knight in heavy armor, wielding huge shield and sword with great survival skills (almost impossible to kill, pain in the a** for other pvp players) and poor dmg capabilities (but can be useful on pvp field) ;p
No matter is it f2p, p2p or b2p. I just wanna an enjoyable mmo (except WoW , which I have played before).
Cheers!

they are still a lot of trinity games out there.
Tanks always do little damage, but usualy a pain to level because of that
Playing FF ARR XIV, and the tanks there are classic. You can level with dungeons, so leveling is ok in this game. It's probably faster with tanks to.
However the best "tanks" I have ever seen was RF online. But that might be because of some imbalances which could be fixed now ( played the game to long ago)
I've seen players literally tanking hundreds of other players in race vs race vs race. They have a system called defense gauge which reduces armor if you are hit many times. Without that, tanks would be invicible.

Things could have changed tough.
Oh Tera has a similar system to. But kinda harder to tank there in my opinion.
Two games spring to mind for me, the best one at the moment would be FFXIV;ARR, the paladin job, which you can choose once you reach 30 with Guardian - which is also good for tanking without the specialisation, and Conjurer to 15, its a fun class to play if you enjoy tanking dungeons etc, and solo you can always get your choco to specialise as a healer
SW;TOR, the shear number of different tanks in this game is impressive, as they handle very differently, so you can be pretty much assured of finding a tank class that suits your play style, personally i preferred the Trooper - Vanguard tank, but the Jedi Knight was also fun, even if the storyline wasn't as much fun, personal preference there though really. Though if your going to play SW;TOR, then you have to play the Imperial Agent, which despite not being a Tank class, probably has imo, the best storyline of them all, and you get Scorpio
Either way lots of games out there with Tanking classes, and fairly sure in each of them the class is very much in demand
Games should impliment the mob effect which stops the tanks from becoming invincible
1 googly is as strong as 1
2 googly is as strong as 2
3 googly is as strong as 4
4 googly is as strong as 8
5 googly is as strong as 16
6 googly is as strong as 32
The more you pull the stronger each enemy gets while they are attacking you at once otherwise your defense will be able to mitigate 100% of the damage. Since 1 or 2 and 3 while taking minor damage you could handle anymore would be unrealistic and fatal. Dunno why I said that, read a defence gauge remark here and made me think of something like that but anyways...
FFXIV: ARR which I'm playing right now has tank classes. Gladiator - your classic sword and board tank. Pally - heal tank. Possibly Dark Knight in the future - 2h offensive tank. just chose a gladiator personally if you want to have a go at the game.
This isn't a signature, you just think it is.
I had to google "googly". I'm guessing you mean somewhat of an "incoming wild vector".
That is a good idea, though. Force whichever participant which is projecting mitigation via manipulated directional incoming damage (i.e. the "guy that is "tanking", where "tank" isn't necessarily the participant with highest defense) to select 1, 2 or 3 vectors, while the remaining have unimpeded or even bonus damage. This would then necessitate the activity of a second directional manipulation participant, be he a "second tank" or cc, when cc is actually the 3rd aspect of trinity, which was classically incoming damage mitigation, rather than dps, because everyone does dps. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
also keep in mind there are those unknown little titles, having tanks like deathknights or warriors which are basically what you asked for.
what strange and rarely played game this is i talk about?
the few who play it call it world of warcraft

Just randomly pick a mmorpg and you will find what you're looking for. This seems to be a troll thread unless he's looking for a tank that doesn't deal much damage. Lots of the new genre give the tanks a huge damage output as well. If this thread was titled looking for a game that doesn't have a tank class. Then it would have a very small list of games.
This isn't a troll tread at all.
I wrote that I'm looking for classic tank with poor dps and the best defensive skills.
I also remember something like The Temple Knight class in Lineage 2 (old chronicles , dunno about the new ones), but this isn't the same game anymore.
Thank you for all your responses.
I think I'll give it a try with LoTRO or EQ2 (as f2p can be a free trial) and I'll also check FF XIV: ARR later.
If I don't like it I'll give it a try with another mmo's mentioned by you.
Regards
I see you're from Poland. Pick the Snowbourn server as it's the most populated unofficial EU server.
Also, like someone mentioned SWTOR is a great one to try.
What you're looking for sounds a lot like the Lancer Class in Tera. A Classical tank that is a pain in the ass in pvp.
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
EQ2 is a great choice. While there are 4 very classic tanks (Paladin, Shadowknight, Berserker and Guardian), the most defensive "classic-style" of them is the Guardian.
The sad thing is that it's quite hard experience the real EQ2 game at lower level (or anything other than cap really). If it's your first time in EQ2, i suggest the following:
1. Just play the game at low level to like level 25. This will be totally solo and can be done in a day or a month, depending on your pace.
2. Once you've done that, roll the same character as a "heroic" - which is level 90. This generally costs money, but you can TRIAL it for free (you just won't be able to level beyond 91). But at 90, you'll have your full complement of skills, realistic equipment and much better idea of how the class REALLY plays. Although groups may still be difficult to come by.
3. At this point you'll know if you like the game / class. If you do, either buy the latest expac (includes others) and pay for the heroic character or just go back to playing your level 30 or whatever. There is lots of great content in EQ2 - at all levels - just not much grouping at low levels (but tons at cap).
Feel free to message Pantheya on Crushbone if you have general game questions.
