Virtuix Omni takes Virtual Reality to a whole new level

I just discovered this nifty little VR device called the Virtuix Omni. It isn't a VR headset, but a VR treadmill that works with traditional VR headsets such as the Oculus Rift. Best part is, it's not actually a treadmill, it's a non-frictious surface that comes with special shoes so it works almost like a treadmill, in order to keep costs down and still provide a better experience. Here's a video of it in action on Call of Duty Advanced Warfare:

Cost is pretty cheap for what it is, too. Currently it's on pre-order for 500 bucks, but come February 1 it'll go to 700 bucks. Also keep in mind that the VR headset doesn't come included, but you don't actually need it for the machine to function (It's designed for use with VR headsets, why the hell would you buy it without a headset, you numpty?)

According to Virtuix, the Omni works with every game that is compatible with virtual reality. This means it works with many first-person MMOs, such as Planetside 2 and even Elder Scrolls Online (If you have the mod that adds Rift compatibility, that is.)! Also it's a great way to get exercise while not leaving our games behind!

I'm definitely picking this thing up for use with my Rift :)

I think this will work about as well as Kinect. Be blast for a couple of hours but completely unplayable in the long run.
