Chest farmers
new type farmer
what i have seen in swtor and learned abut chest farming.
possible not the best way to make game credits however why are they doing it?
here is why.
They are using some type of teleport system (an exploit or hack)
this allows them to teleport to each chest as it is about to spawn and loot it.
this is causing a stress on the swtor servers and a lag.
i have seen the chest farmers appear a little before the chest does or a little after.
they make game credits is the ability to teleport to a chest in any area and loot it. then to the next and the next etc.
with looting a chest most have any where from 1k to 4k or even more in the new xpac these chest had
20k-31k now since these chest spawn at a set time 4.5 mins you can see that they can and do make a lot of credits.
but us players are feeling the lag from their teleport hacks.
I hope that swtor will just remove the chest all of them.
Comments
I haven't actually witnessed camping of them which is odd. I ran circuit while still doing quests on no real timer and kept looting the same 2-3 chest several times without issue. I imagine the campers may have been situated more on specific shards.
ESO bot farming a far greater issue. This is likely a small blip over time for this launch. The lag issues are far more troubling.
You stay sassy!
I would like to say that they are not the ones i wrote
the above statement about.
I decided to make a new character and as i was doing my
leveling i notice some chests on Belsavis.
i didn't loot them as they had near them a gold elite mob.
i seen a player appear behind the mob and loot the chest
then disappear again.
thinking this was stange, i thought i would watch a little longer.
in about 30 seconds later another player appeared and stood for a
few seconds and the elite attacked the player the player then
disappeared while he was in combat with the mob.
There is something stange these players had to have passed me
to get to the chest but they didn't.
so i conintue to watch for a while and i took screen shots
of the players appearing and looting the chest. one was a
sith so i messaged him in game and he didn't respond to me.
i also notice he didn't log out of the game.
so as i lefted the area i found another chest in area with mobs around it.
i decided to watch it. then that is when i was supprise to see the same
sith and the other rep. player appearing to loot that chest.
If the chest was there they would loot it. then disapear.
if the chest wasn't there they would stand then in a few seconds
disappear.
2 chests and the 2 same players appearing at them.
i went to a 3rd chest, this chest was on belsavis but in a higher level area
different player would appear and disapear near it.
So, i thought how are they doing this? That is where i came up with
the teleport hack idea.
i beleive that these 3 players are using some type of hack.
and that this hack is causing some lag in the game.
i have screen shots of the looters i know that swtor won't do anything
but the times on the screen shots should prove that the looters appeared
every 5 mins to loot the chests even if the chest was not there.
i do not smoke nor do i take drugs,
And you report this to BWEA support, or do you just post your rants randomly on the net, hoping some miracle will occur to stop this purported "hack?"
How do you explain between different locations within those instances?
Whether this teleportation hack is actually happening or not it's irrelevant to the issue of lag. The lag is from the new zones and events taking place within those zones, which is why the majority of the lag is taking place within the new zones and not really anywhere else.
If its happening it should be reported so they can be booted, but just because A happens doesn't mean it has anything to do with B.
How can you be sure of teleporting without teleporting yourself, ie. be at two places at just the same time?
But consider this: Location A, instance 1, then 2, then 3.....move to location B, instance 3, then 2, then 1.
It would appear as teleporting......and we yet have no single proof of real teleporting or hacks
The simplest way to tell if any MMO is being farmed is to check the known goldseller sites. If "SWTOR golds"" are freely available from goldsellers, then you know without a doubt that hacks and exploits are rampant in the game. It also probably means that quite a few players are buying "illegal" game currency.
The events described by the OP are typical of node teleport bots, which jump between known co-ordinates 24/7 to exploit resources, chests, etc. Every MMO that has launched in the last few years has been infested with node bots if there's any lootable nodes in the game.
Hmm, I've never seen this, though have seen people standing at the spawn point. Would be great for swtor if you could grab a video and get it to the right people or maybe just spread the name of the hackers.
Really
i don't care about if they using a hack or not.
i don't care about how much game money they get.
WHAT I DO CARE IS!
i would like to log in one time and do 1 quest without the lag.
If they will not do something about this lag i don't see any paying players staying.
Except you have absolutely no proof that the teleporting is in fact going on (like someone else said unless you are teleporting too you don't know they got there instantly or traveled there the same as you did), or that IF it is happening that its whats causing the lag. You saw something you thought was happening and jumped to a conclusion.
