Hoping AA fails and servers close down ( merges happen )

and basically it becomes a ghost town.

Why do I hope this ? Because I want AA to serve as a warning and a lesson

to others that we will not tolerate business models like this

    in our country.

The future of MMO's is not P2W models , people are losing tons

of money and have been burned once , most wont fall

for the same trick and traps twice.

Love it. 100% free to play.

LOL - you paid for patron and now saying F2P is good? You PAID 150 USD for the bloody Patron Status - F2P means just that - NO MONEY? WTF is 150 USD for your Patron status? Chopped Liver?

it is a crap P2W game plain and simple.

    Patron is $14.99 a month.

Then he is not playing a F2P game. If he thinks he is then he can pay me 50 USD per month so he can use the internet.

If you expect them to make games you can play without paying.... when was the last time you worked for free? Right.

Lol - this is probably the most profitable game per player on the market.

It is IMO  the best monetized MMORPG on the market currently

You can expect other games to start copying ArcheAge monetization model heavily.

    Why?

Capitalism - its all about maximizing profits - AA does it superbly

I think it would require a new label, maybe CCRPG (Credit Card Role Playing Game)

Thier ARPU is not the highest.  Thier ARPPU is not the highest.  The do not have the highest single sale, or highest paying single user in the industry. Their numbers are respectable, and monetization is not their biggest issue. You should expect to see some of the numbers to be published in their presentation at developers conferences later next year.

Oh this is what they are doing? So we can expect every other MMO to turn servers off for three days and lower player cap to make it look like the servers are busy? Because that's how AA is trying to maximize profits. Servers are completely empty and yet they say "high" . Ya its high pop when your cap is 1000 per server. Always gonna come runnin to defend AA even though it's dead.

Personally , i don't think F2P=suck , there are many game manage F2P without ruin the game .

But ArcheAge F2P system is suck .

In first place , they broken the core of game "labor point" with cash shop items like worker's pot or patron labor offline regen .

And i prefer no "labor point" because it pretty much ruin the game play , no labor point = unable to play 90% of game .

Then they start throw in game item like sapling in cash shop.

If it wasn't because of blinded greed , i can't see why they do that .

And take away the F2P , the game still pretty broken .

Many active in game done half*** , for example continents trading where when you enter "no PVP" map and get ganked while your party member can't help but watch and heal (never in time)

    Then flower dance .

What i see is a unfinshed game that still in (open) beta stage . Though it a fine game so far.

I can see why AA get trouble in Korea when XL game release the (doom) patches , they have no views of they game .

You can't blame "hacking ruin AA" in Korea because it hard and risk to hack in Korea ,

In Korea 1 people only have 1 legit account to play , so banned = no playing anymore .

No such numbers are publicly available, yet. XL and Trion are going to wait when they cross $100mil - that would be my guess. Obviously private companies don't have to disclose anything period.

Can you show me where you are getting 1000 per server cap?

    complete fabrication on your part

They lowered the pop *temporarily* the cap is back at how it was.

I play on Ollo - its packed - go see for yourself - don't take my word for it.

The most profitable game per player means jack shit if you lose most of your players. ArcheAge sounds like a trainwreck and you can bet that it has hurt the reputation of both Trion and XLGames.

On the flip side - it doesnt stop folks from saying how AA is dead - which is completely untrue (at least anyone can log in right now and see for themselves how utterly wrong that is)

    it goes both ways

You did not answer the question tho...

So how come it does not prevent you from the conclusions and the claims you are making regarding the game?

How do you get from "there is no way to know" to "it's a success everyone will follow"?

DarkHigh, I thought the exact same thing when I first tried to log back in. I was like, WTF? Hour long server queues and high populations? Ya, Trion definitely lowered population cap, that one is obvious.

The shitty part of it is it is a sub game. If you're treating AA as your main MMO and you've got time to play, f2p doesn't cut it. You need to sub to this game. If you've a family and job requiring much of your time, the f2p might be good. The problem here is, while you need ot sub to play seriously, the game has a cash shop that affects your server far more than any other sub game out there. They want to have their cake and eat it too, and while I don't have access to their sales figures, gamer sentiment that I've seen suggests that it won't last and the damage Trion is doing to their reputation is substantial.

Are you admitting to insider information? If you are, then that explains a lot. If you aren't then you are just making shit up.
