Res scrolls gone. Any other incentives?

From what I hear, res scrolls are gone.  I was wondering if there were other incentives offered/dangled to draw old players back into the game?

Right now you can buy WoW (doesn't include WoD), for $4.99 US from the Blizzard store.  That includes 30 days game time and all the content up to WoD.  90 levels of content for less than $5!

    http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/16940820/give-the-gift-of-warcraft-wow-75-off-on-black-friday-11-25-2014

If you buy WoD too, you actually save $10 because everyone else had to pay $14.99 US for a month's sub just to play WoD.  WoD includes one boost to 90, so you can start playing at WoD level from day one.  WoD is $49.99 US.

    There is still Recruit-A-Friend Program:

Then there is the free trial version which will allow you to try out WoW for 20 levels... any race or faction or class EXCEPT Death Knights.  This is what replaced Resurrection Scrolls.

If you haven't played WoW for a long time and want to just play WoD, I'd buy WoW for $4.99 and WoD for $49.99 from the Blizzard store.  You save $10 overall.  Boost a toon to 90 and off you go.

If you need an extra incentive to play, you don't really seem to want to play it bad enough.  You should pass on it.

I don't know about you guys but my account page had a "try Draenor" free for 7 days on the right side... I was debating.. but then just decided to go orc and try the horde side.  We'll see.  I don't have any of my golds on this server so it's pretty much from scratch.

Considering WoD's sales numbers, I don't think Blizzard needs to worry about providing any more incentives for people to come and play.

Well, a friend and I are considering reactivating our accounts, so the res scrolls would have been handy.  Buying new, free trials and all are simply not an option, sadly.

The Resurrection Scrolls required someone with an active account to send the invite to you, and your account would have had to been dormant for a substantial amount of time.  At best all your friend would get is 30 days play time.  If they wanted to play WoD, they would still have to buy the expansion.

    Resurrection Scroll (no longer available):

    30 days game time + WoD = ($0 + $49.99) = $49.99 US.

New license to WoW (limited time offer):

    30 days game time + WoD = ($4.99 + $49.99) = $54.98 US.

    Existing WoW account:

    30 days game time + WoD = ($14.99 + $49.99) = $64.98 US.

Honestly, the new license route is the best option unless you have some sort of connection to your old toons...
