The lag and hitching

I am trying the 14 day trial but I am finding the DOAC is hitching considerably.

I have looked for a fix but it seems there is none and since this is a forum I subscribe to I thought I would ask here.

Here are some system stats.

Thanx for the help.

There is some history of Mythic (or whatever small back office company they are run by now, i.e., Broadsword?), of having issues with the AMD.  Like other issues with this game who's death sentence was chimed when the directors wished to steer players toward Warhammer (look how that turned out), by sweeping Dark Age under a rug, nothing will be done.  It's not financially viable enough for the few folks that run this game from the shadows of a basement office room where the mysterious "red stapler" lies.

My suggestion is that you can try rolling back your driver, and see if that helps.  If not, then perhaps it's just best to wait for Camelot Unchained.

Dark Age of Camelot was an amazing game in its day.  But the same old server has been on a life assist since 2009, and nothing notable has happened since other than some rvr changes that haven't done squat for population.

There was a huge request a handful of years back by the DAoC community to get a new server, one that encompassed the old maps and set up of the game - the stuff that had made it so much fun in the first place.  This initiated a promise to produce a server called, Origins.  Unfortunately, Warhammer was already dying, like a lame horse kicking in the mud shortly after the starting gate.  This inspired investors to direct focus further from Dark Age, because, "we can't afford to lose any more clients to this money pit of a title."  Origins would have taken quite a few of what was left of the Warhammer base.

After a while, the discussion not only fell off the table, but you couldn't get anyone at Mythic now Broadsword, to discuss it in any way.  Origins became that daughter of the family that moved to California at 14 to find a career in something inappropriate, as you can imagine this is how the story was treated, i.e., when dinner time comes at the Mythic family house, we never speak of "her."

So, in the end, after 2001-present day's worth of a small but loyal fan base, Mythic-Broadsword continues to not entertain the one fair reward for those who have stayed and those who would return, those folks that are tired of processed, fake tri-realm mmo video games where cut and paste of classes, abilities, and races, abounds.  The one reward would have been a fresh start with the old school version of what made Dark Age such a fun title.

A slap in the face of those who have loved DAoC, wouldn't you say?

Rest in Peace, Dark Age of Camelot.

It is not your specs, the first expansion for example - which challenged many peoples systems when it was released requires 256MB of RAM for example - yep 0.25GB. Same with the other requirements.

Your problems could be because your system is to powerful - and it is running some operations to quickly - or a driver issue or .....

And whilst there may, at some point in time, be updates that fix "issues" you can't expect them. It's an old game which EA "gave away" to some of the original creators - a severance package if you like. So all it has now is a small team looking to see if it can breathe life back into the game.

I would bet dollars to donuts, that if the Broadsword developers (Bob, his loving wife, and teenage son), offered an Origins server, that the population would swell to some fair numbers (nothing like the WoW juggernaut of Asian sub base fanfare), but enough to give it blood.  In that event, my guess is that EA would "re-aquire" the title, destroy it further, and then offer it up once more in a "to go paper bag."

    Well, that is disappointing.

I have been trying some older games and DAOC was on the list. Guess I will move on and see what other old MMO I can try next.

Does this issue also apply to Ultima Online?

I can get a 14 day trial for it also.
