Warlords begins at midnight - no server shutdowns or relog needed.

expressoexpresso Member UncommonPosts: 2,218

For those that recall the start of the TBC which happened live without a server relog, for hours players turned up at the portal in blasted lands and waited excitedly for the portal to open before pouring through, I think it was 7PM if I recall back then.

Turns out the same will happen with WoD, no relog or server reset, at midnight the portal opens and in we go. I for one wont miss that event and all the PvP goodness that will ensue in the build up.

Who wants to crahs some servers?

I guess ill be rather blurry eye'd that day in work image

Looks like as I am in the UK it goes live 11pm on wednesday night - yeah baby!

The joys of adulthood.  I want to play this new game, but I have to work in the morning, so, I guess I'll wait til the weekend.

Time's sure have changed,  a few years ago this would have meant a 24 pack of Mtn Dew, a couple pizzas, and 2 days of nerding out.

Still have to contend with potential server crashes... that screen of theirs showing logins is going to look like war games or the fourth of july.

I don't want to be exhausted at work, it ruins the whole day to be very tired, and also real life always comes before video games.

Not to mention there's going to be a rush for the quest mobs which isn't going to be very fun.

I'll just be there for the opening ceremony so to speak I'll probably be tucked up in bed by midnight ready for work the next day, I just don't want to miss the inevitable clash of horde and alliance as both sides try to claim stairs to the portal to be first in.  World PvP for a short time will be a real once again.

I won't be touching the game for at least a few days. Overcrowded zones are horrendous.

Totally agree! Yes, I'll be the one at the quest giver for 5 minutes, reading the quests as I get them. First guy through is always my slowest. There are usually guys who are done levelling by the time I get home from work anyway, so why rush?

Its not something that happens all the time, Blasted lands is going to be a fun place to be prior to the opening just as it was when BC started.  I am sure there will be gnome races and all kinds of goings on.

I parked my toon on top of the portal yesterday and spend half an hour talking to half a dozen others who were doing the same, we throw down a keg got drunk, throw out all out toys and even convinced one of them to join the other guys guild.

I plan on jumping on my largest mount, positioning it right over the first quest giver, and going /afk for an hour or so.

3am for me :( Sooo I'll be waiting until I get home from work tomorrow.

An entire guild can do this too... pointless now, since you can select the quest NPCs THROUGH players/mounts in WoD.

With no flying in Dreanor I am hoping people will switch to the more appropriate sized ground only mounts.  And not continue to use those needlessly huge dragons.

It's really sad when people have lost their grasp on reality, thinking that a video game is real life.

Totally with you guys. I'll be playing until 2-3am and probably won't even get a full bar of exp. I love the atmosphere and the community of launch events, and launch towns. I'll just be roaming around sticking my nose where it doesn't belong, jumping off things... and goofing around. Can't wait.
