When, safe zones and alignment

When will the safe zones and alignment be reworked?  Adding those safe zones was a huge step backwards in a sandbox game.

I dont see how you can say that, unless your hoping they just kill darkfall off, or turn it into a MOBA, and get rid of leveling, grinding for resources, crafting, and the economy.  Why do you want to kill newbies, who cant defend themselves? Why do you want to kill people who dont want to pvp at the same time you do? Why do you want to force every one to pvp at all times, just because you want to?

if they did alignment right, there wouldnt be a need for safe zones.  i'm all for letting people get attacked wherever (i would keep cities no-violence though to facilitate trade)... but the attacker if attacking unprovoked should take a punishment for it.

Much like in eve, there would be some places where the response is severe and brutal to player-kills (AKA highsec), some places where it's minimal but still there (lowsec) and others where the long arm of the NPC law does not apply (null or WH space).  the next step is to make it so there are plenty of things to do for players to do no matter what zone they dwell in.  Obviously there should be rewards for braving the lawless areas but there should still be plenty of reasons to stay in the safe(r) zones.

this would hopefully stop the people who hate safezone from complaining about them, and also get people into the game to grow the population.  as someone who is in an eve alliance with 1500 members, i KNOW a few dozen would try DF  if its alignment systems more closely resembled eve's.

there is a huge difference between getting ganked but knowing your attacked just made his own life much harder (and possibly signed his own death warrant as the NPC goons hack him to ribbons if he cannot escape), and getting ganked just because why not, there's no real penalty not to.  either way your character died but in one, there was a trade-off for the attacker and in the other there was not.

I know i mentioned something along these lines on a forum, only to be surprised when a dev posted they are thinking along the same lines.  I got fanboi swoon i admit :P  when will we see it, and in what form exactly, remains to be seen.

I personally like having safe zones. They could be a little bit smaller. Don't care for alignment system.... shouldn't be ganking low prow players it's just bm.
