Why do I have a feeling you eat meat, have owned leather, and overall are just a flaming morbid hypocrite...

Your just sick. Alot of children go to rodeo events, and you say it's "Justice served"?

Harvesting the remains of dead cows for coats, food and etc. are completely different issues, they are practical uses...  Using a raging bull as a sorts of entertainment is torturous, nature wasn't intended to be the jester of humanity...

And yes, I say it is "Justice Served" because it is an example of humans mettling with nature in an unintended way...  Just like when an elephant goes berserk at a circus, it is poetic justice as well...  You are forgetting one thing, these creatures are wild animals and are prone to act *gasp* WILD!  So yes, while I find it tragic that a 3 year old may get kicked in the head by a raging bull, I also find it to be ironic and not too much of a surprise either...  What do you expect to happen when you aggravate a wild animal like a bull?  And when you are doing it in the name of entertainment, and an ass-backwards form of hick entertainment at that, you have it coming and deserve what happens...

Same thing with my beloved chocolate lab, he is 70 lbs of loyalty and spunk...  However, if he up and bites me or my kids in the face scarring us for life, we deserved that too...  However, it is a gamble I am willing to take since dogs have been bred to be docile and 'Man's Best Friend'...  Plus I give my dog the good life too, he would have been given up for adoption and maybe even put to sleep had we not taken him in...  The bull in the video doesn't eat ice cream on his owner's lap while watching adult swim nightly, no, the bull is left to rot in his cage until the next jackass cowboy gets on his back and scares the bull shitless...

It is justice served...  Plain and simple...

Dis_Ordur, I absolutely agree. Im a huge animal lover aswell..HUGE. I have Black lab and she is treated like a princess and sleeps on my bed stuff.

I absolutely hate bull riding and its just another way for cowboys enlarge their ego. They need to compensate it for their small peni..

    Anyways

I went vegan last year after seeing some videos on factory farming and its just sick how they abuse the animals and let them die in the most horrific ways. They even have fun with it. I saw a video where these two farmers just wounded a cow and watched it die slowly. The vids are still available but I would be banned for linking them just because of the content and just that fact alone says a lot. But I guess this is going off the topic. But its still animal abuse.

ya but if it wasnt for rodeo we really wouldnt have bulls their not safe in the wild, and when i say bulls i mean the real thing.

if it wasnt for rodeos bull would be bred into something they are totally not, its like the difference between a rabbit and a jackrabbit or hair in the wild one is the pure form and the other one is corruption according to jean jock russo(sp>)

that being said i went down to mexico for a real bullfight and they literally served the bull afterwards......

What do you mean "served"? It can mean a few things.

I would rather have no bulls or some different breed of bulls than abused bulls. Who gives a flying sh*t if bulls evolve *gasp* into something else? Its NATURE doing its JOB, not corruption.

Vergeltung would like to ridden with some guy stabbing you with his boot? If you say its "different" with bulls then you are so wrong. They can feel pain and fear just like us. All you have to do is watch the bull trying to get the guy of his back. The bull is not doing it for laughs and fun, he is scared, hurt and pissed. This is not right.

Anyone seen that old movie "Powder"? This hunter shoots a deer and powder (that's his name) walks up and grabs the hunters arm and touches the deer while it's dying. THe hunter and powder start freaking out like they're in pain. Good movie, my dad shot a buck that year deer meat is too greasy for me though still tasted good. I can't believe there are actuall people considering contraceptives for wildlife. About as stupid as a dog's medicine cabinet. Yeesh.

Professor Hubert Farnsworth - That question is less stupid but, you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.

By practical I assume you mean it in the sense of serving a purpose.

Clothing & Food to be the most popular usage of certain animals. BOTH able to be replaced by alternative means.

So why do we do it? Lets face it, meat is tasty, and alot of people think things like leather are "fashionable", comfortable, or just something they prefer.

So it's for what pleases us.

To put it simply...Your blind, but yet perceptive.

Yes, I'll admit it's half-way expected, because animals are wild. And people who don't expect something bad to happen, are almost mathematically right, but there is that small fraction that it can happen. Just like what happend to...Was it Siegfried(sp?) or Roy?

Did they deserve it though? No. From the sounds of it, they treated their animals very humane and kind.

    Was it justice? No.

Was it moronic of them to put animals on display and entertainment and to expect no backlash? Yes.

I'm not a fan of rodeo, but I'll say this. If they deserved what happend to them, every pet owner deserves it if their animal turns on them. And by pet owner, I mean people like you. Who keep their animals inside, and rob them of their natural instinct.

Animals are meant to be wild, anyone who cages their animal in a house, whether it acts docile or not, are just as "messed up" as those rodeo folk.

Having the courage of your "convictions" means you act on what you say, not crucifying others for the same "sin" you, yourself, commit.

I Hate cowboys. Lower than dirt. I've gotten into arguments with complete strangers because they were wearing a cowboy hat. Let them be gore, they don't disserve not to be. I know this comment is very harsh, but the fact that I've been forced to put up with country music is just as bad.

Aldaron: Humans are animals too, jackass. I suppose you support people going out and getting in bar fights, then?

Why not? Southern accents, cowboy hats, cowboy boots, and country music. I am offended by all of these things. I consider those who support them beneath those who don't. Which sucks, since I thought you had some good opinions, Rikimaru.

Seriously, tell me why they are allowed to play country music at the DMV? How am I supposed to go in there? Jackasses.

  • You hate Riki because he thinks you're a little off hating people who simply wear cowboy hats? You really are nuts.
  • KuzzleKuzzle Member Posts: 1,058

I never said that I hated Riki. In fact, he's one of the more competent people on here. I just said that I didn't understand his comment about how I shouldn't judge people based on what they wear, or something like that.

AND I'M NOT NUTS! I mean seriously, I even have proof. I've been to all sorts of doctors and been analyzed and stuff. I may have Asperger's Syndrome, ADHD, and be a little obsessive Compulsive, but I'm not nuts.

Isn’t that being a bit hypocritical?  You say “nature wasn't intended to be the jester of humanity...” yet you keep a dog as a pet.  Dogs are bred to be docile and bulls were bred to be just the opposite yet they are both “WILD” animals.  Maybe a bulls idea of a perfect weekend is to throw a few cowboys then stomp them into the dirt.  At least they don’t have to worry about repercussions for there actions, and they are allowed to be “WILD” unlike your dog.  You are no better than cowboys you critisize.  You just won’t admit it.  A cage is a cage weather you have carpet under your feet or mud.  I guess it would be justice served if your dog did bit your face?

    1. Bulls idea of a weekend is not being the center of cruel entertainment by being stabbed in the sides ...and ridden. Its being mocked.

    2. A cage has sides to it where you are contained and not allowed out or a jail...samething. If they are truely out in the wild then they would be able to roam freely. I don't think a bull is too nervous about repercussions...its a bull. Cages and being ridden in a ring for entertainment purposes is a very high stress environment for the bull and its not healthy physically or mentally. Stress a has a huge impact on health.

    3. Dogs who live in a home are VERY different. In my case and Aldaron's, we treat our dogs with respect and love. We have a comfortable home and pat our dogs and let them out. I live near the water so I bring my dog and a throw a ball out into the water and let her go swimming. She absolutely loves it based on her tail wagging and how much she loves and wants her tennis ball. I can tell she loves living with me because she licks my face and loves to cuddles and be near me.

I saved her from an abusive home and if my lab was to go out into the wild and left there, she would not have the ability to fend for herself and survive. Im positive they did research on this particular subject of domestic dogs and their survivability in the wild. I can't remember the exact results but I know they can't survive because they have been bred with an inferior mental capacity for wildlife.

Maybe you should get a dog and see for yourself before preaching this stuff. On the otherhand I would be afraid of having a dog in your care or lack of it...

I can almost see where you are coming from with the cowboy hats...wait, no I can't. But I can see how you could twist it to fit your opinion.

But my southern accent does not make me a supporter of the south. When you are raised speaking a certain way, you tend to speak that way.

You aren't eccentric, you're a bigger bigot than the southern people that you bash.

Um, because your arguement for hating cowboys is the same as the arguements for hmm, let me see, hating [insert preverbial race, gender, nationality, etc here] for example?  Plain and simple ignorance,  to put it similarly to someone else here...

And by the way, saying that someone getting gored for watching bull riding is justice served is just as ignorant a statement.  Justice served is crime and punishment for said crime.  Last I looked, bull riding is not a crime, much less wearing a cowboy hat.

Come on guys, have a little decency for a change...

Just because its not illegal to ride a bull doesn't mean the bull is ok with it...The government just doesn't care for animals as much. There are businesses out their that breed and sell dogs to research labs so they can use the dog for experiments. Cigarette companies use monkeys to test their cigarettes all day long and then check to see how much damage has been done and what other effects...ect.

without animal research modern medicine would be 15 years behind where it is now.

lets face it when your wife/kid/husband is in the hospital you dont care how many monkeys/dogs/ whatever died making sure that medicine worke.

you will only care about their life and wont think about that.

so before you take this high and mighty stance on animal research i challenge you to act on it by not taking a single medical treatment that was tested in this fashion.

when you do that, dont eat meat, wear anything that was "cruelly" gotten from animals then i will say you both walk the walk and talk the talk until then your another peda representitive for a radio station to prank call(my favorite radio station did a really good one to our local peda chick)

so please take your idealism and your hindrance to society and invoke your right not to talk....
