Is there a way to install STO without ARC?

Is there a way to install STO without ARC? I don't want to install all that crap and hate when games do things like that. I'd rather just have the game client itself without all the added BS to it wasting the disk space.

have you tried through steam? Last time i tried STO on steam it didnt ask me for Arc, and that was shortly after Arc launched. I dont know if that changed though.

You could also install Arc install STO then uninstall Arc, it will run without Arc.

That hasn't changed and I think PWE may even have committed to that not changing.

Sorry took so long to respond I had to get a new pc. My question is this. Isn't Steam and Arc basically the same type of software? Really don't want to use a unneeded client to just to launch my mmo games. I mean what's the difference in the two? I tried Steam out when a friend sent me Half Life 2 and I wasn't really crazy about it myself. Didn't like the fact it don't install games in their original location and basically ran in the back ground. I am just not seeing the point in having that extra crap running at all when your playing an mmo. What's the point to it besides taking up extra resources?
