In AA not every player will be the "hero", not everyone will have a castle in north continent, not everyone will have everthing in game.

Thats right, some will only be like a citizen trying to survive in a amazing political player driven world, like me.

I really like this kind of games even when i take long time to archive some things, imersion in a mmorpg is archive with players interactions, not with npc interactions, thats good for single player games. And im a PvE player trying allways to avoid pvp.

Yes, i love the "cat-mouse activity" in the ocean when go alone with my speedboat trying to go from a safe zone to a safe zone with a little pack on my back.

AA is not even "hardcore", a pve player like me can survive pretty good there, yes thinks take more time to get, but i never rush in games so im ok with that.

Political economy driven player:  Something that i want in mmorpg, AA have it and i hope more games come in next years in this line of development.

When you get to the end of this game lets see how motivated you are when all you have to do is fight each other on a randomn button mash.

I've played this game at the end and it's shit. That's why it's dead at that point,

You will get to the end and 8/10 people will leave. Do go and enjoy it.

The fact that you say end game is the issue I should think. When MMO's launched the "End Game" was not even a concept. There was no "END".  I am sorry that you are unable to grasp that concept and enjoy an ONGOING MMO. IMO your "end game" is what is shit Sir.

This game is going to fail at end game because they are trying to ride the middle, not being a hardcore sandbox pvp game like eve, or being a hardcore themeparker like WoW.  They are trying to cater to everyone and in the end, no one will be happy.  Granted you can't call the future with 100% possibility, but after having a lvl 50 in Korea, and 2 50's in RU (Total Invasion, castle owning Russian pvp guild) and being an ex eve pirate (SNIGG, why did you become PL!  I miss pirating!) I found the pvp to be lackluster beyond belief.  There isn't the same drive of taking space because there is no reason to own a castle past bragging rights.  In eve having a station was a tactical and financial advantage and each sector had different pluses and minuses to it for owning in that area.

Basically, Archeage engame siege PVP = wintergrasp on a week long timer.

That said, I did enjoy farming.  I did enjoy crafting.

I gues you havent made the most expensive trade packs and try to deliver them across the open sea....alone or in groups.....
Where pirates awaits its prey for an easy target.
it reminds me more of Eve Online then any other mmo on the market.

But why argue with someone who thinks endgame is shit when its the players that makes endgame.
You sir can go back to your mmo if you even have one while we create our own game within a game.

try reading the post then responding instead of skimming you won't look so stupid with such a biased, blanketed reply.  The fact that you are trying to "rip" me by saying I never have made tradepacks shows you didn't even bother to read past the first sentence of my post.  Trade route pirating is fun for about 2-3 weeks.  Then it gets old.

I'm getting burned out hearing about a game that will be f2p but in the meantime is $150 for alpha. I suggest you launch the game already, especially since the game has already launched elsewhere.

Oh My Freakin Gawd! Stop the presses! I just found out that:

    • Ultima Online
    • Star Wars Galaxies
    • Asheron's Call
are all crappy 1/2 mmorpgs cause they don't have this precious thing called endgame!  Hold the hell up! Another news flash! Every mmorpg that has every been created has to be equally enjoyed by all 400 million mmorpg players on the entire freakin planet! It's dumb to think that the genre has to allow any type of diversity to appease more than one type of mmo player.  So we all understand:
    • There is only one formula to creating a mmorpg
    • There is only one type of player to appease
    • There is no room for diversity
    • All 400 million mmorpg players in the world love endgame
Someone feel free to stop me when this starts to sound stupid....

MMO's do not need an "end game," that concept is one of the major issues with the current games.  My opinion may just come from my age.  When I was a kid we pretty much only had pen and paper rpg's.  I cannot ever recall wanting an end game, I wanted the adventures to continue with my character, he had a whole lifetime of adventure ahead of him.  Then things started to open up with computer games and I fell in love with UO.  This was awesome, I could wander out into the wilderness to fight creatures, chop some wood, or just fish if I wanted to.  Since I was a big fan of role playing, the open PvP aspect of the game provided for a rich RP environment.  Sure I could kill monsters and hit dungeons but the real villains were the red PK's or the Blue notoriety PK's.

Unfortunately I think the days of an open ended, full loot pvp game are over.  Games have become too item-centric and the new generation of players are different.  They are used to Tee ball, instant gratification, everything being fair, and everyone getting a trophy.

Cause someone needs to translate code, text, sound, voice over for starters. That's why it's still in alpha. Yes, the game launched in Korea but it was made in Korea, go figure. Also, seeing as I know it's been discussed to death over the past month, alpha access did not cost $150, but since you obviously you weren't aware, let me clear things up for you. Alpha is actually about $30, but I'm sure you'll scratch your head trying to figure that one out.

Alpha is only 30 dollars if you planned on buying in the cash shop all the items and store credits they gave you.  But here is another thing no one likes to mention about that package, they haven't fully decided if they are going the RU route and letting players buy subs from the cash shop with cash shop money they are thinking about *(unless this changed in the last week or two)* making subs only paid for with ingame gold or real money.

I would agree with you, if they let you spend those tokens on ingame time.  But they don't.  And as a long time Archeage Player in multiple other territories there isn't anything in the cash shop I really want and would rather they did it like RU where I can spend those cash shop tokens on gametime.

Raids are group puzzles - once figured out its formulaic.

End game with guild politics, territory control and PvP - much more dynamic due to human nature.

Pick your poison, spending hours beating on some dumb boss that you will have on farm status in a matter of time, or  form alliances and stake your territory and destroy enemy castles and sink their ships, steal their loot.

I am glad AA has no raiding - it doesn't belong here.

it feels weird to read people here now praising no endgame/raids after all the cry that GW2 didnt have those.

Anyway, im not a raider and i dont chase end games so i dont care about that. Your comment about alliances taking territory, destroying castles and sinking ships/stealing loot sounds delicious in theory. I hope its well done in practice.

Because GW2's endgame was the same as all the other 78 levels and playing dress-up.

Does no one find it disturbing that the article mentions ArcheAge version 1.0  met resistance in Korea?

And we're supposed to celebrate version 1.2 as a great thing? Sounds like the game is giving a bad impression early on.

    Arche Age

    134.99€ +26,99€ VAT Tax = 161.98€ = 223.42$

In other words Trion wants European players to pay double what US players will pay.

    Thanks, but no thanks!

Every game has different endgame. You guys need to stop compare MMOs.

btw I hope that translators will be quick enough. I have nothing to play :-))

I just cannot get excited about a game that will be funded by a cash shop.  Cash shops always end up being overly expensive compared to a comparable subscription.  There are a few that are not outrageous, but you can count them on one hand.  Cash shop supported games are the bane of the genre.

Yah cash shops aren't usually all that great but TRION did good with the RIFT shop in my opinion. So here is hoping AA cash shop is just like it.

ok the first 3 rooms are easy just trash mobs in 3 waves then we have the jumping puzzle followed by the two buttons on the wall to release the bridge. Once across the bridge the tanks up front and ranged stand over by the glowing columns. Do not use AOE's until the ogre turns purple and the monkeys come flying out of his butt. I repaeat no AOE until the flying anal monkeys emerge otherwise the statues will attack.  Healer 1 use your group heals, heal two keep the tank alive. Rolls will be need before greed if no one needs then everyone roll greed for alts and AH. If we have a group wipe we will regroup at the spawn point and try again........ raids are so much fun and sooooo challenging

    I miss DAoC

    that

i agree PvE raids as  end game content is just crap . After the 1st time it become repeatable, but PvP can become repeatable also if the result's are not able to change the world, but i believe with fort and siege it will take some time to get old this title .
