This is about WS. Bashing ESO with lies won't make WS better or fix it's PvP bot problems. You can try though.

What lies? Its not something new you are hearing. ESO was a disaster when it came to bots. So far no one is complaining about bots in WS with any PVE content. They are complaining about the PVP which is 100% avoidable.

For the most part not many people are complaining about bots in WS even in PVP. Very few people will ever see one. Something that couldnt be said about ESO.

In my 1 month I never noticed a single bot in ESO. Way to exagerae and hidie behind another game.

Also I have a question. How do you avoid 100% when you que up for a BG and get teamed up with bots?

Or is this just an example of the average MMO cheater in action ?

I would bet my mo ney on the first one

MMo´s are fun to play, so why bot?

Unless you make some real money from it?

I heard themeparks only  really start at max level... where the real competition starts...

    So why bother with leveling.

Also because you can, and people find fun in different things. It's fun setting up a bot and than gain advantage even when you don't play.

    Something along those lines.

How did they not know this was going to happen? Carbine has a lot of learning to do. There's only pve and pvp, I hope they get this half of their game straightened out.

Thank god this wasnt as bad as ESO was though. At least you can avoid this. You couldnt avoid ESO bots.

Maybe, but what was the general reaction to ESO having a bot problem? If I recall correctly it was seen as a sign they were complete amateurs who had no idea how to run an MMO. They certainly weren't given slack because some other company had a bot problem. Hell if someone said something like this (other games have bots) they'd be taken out back and flogged.

It wasn't only the ridiculous amounts of bots in ESO that made them look like amateurs.  It was the ridiculous amounts of bugs as well.  Many of which were reported before the game went live and still they failed to fix them.  I don't care about bots in PvP (I don't PvP)  Bots and bugs destroying my immersion in my PvE game is definitely a deal breaker.

Game is too hard, better bot everything.

I personally have to see this botting myself though, might be because I play on an RP server though.

I know two people who run bots.  One to run a team of characters through a game and gain the advantages that come with being in a well coordinated group, and the other to make money as an individual.  The gold farmer has had their account banned before.

Some people just want to bot their way through games, whether it's for the advantages or to make money.  The only solution is to make it somehow impossible or so difficult that it may as well be impossible.  Short of having everything stream from the server wth 0 client side knowledge, this doesn't seem possible.  There are bots in Wildstar just like there are bots in every other online game that has existed, does exist and probably will exist.  This isn't a revelation, this is just an observation of how things work.

I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

Well to be hobest, if blizzard can´t get rid of the bots... I am sure that carbine will have to live with them too.

With that said i am sure the situation will improve as the game matures.

This have been a good conversation

  • FleshMaskFleshMask Member UncommonPosts: 249

I suspect nothing appears to be happening because the devs are hoping to get everyone in one fatal swoop.

It's only been 2 weeks since launch...

I'd say if the bots are around after this month, then I would be concerned.

    This so much!

Also, remember that Blizz has, probably, a few million lines of code to deal with bots now, Wildstar has zero. However, botters still have all the code they used in WoW, so bots are constantly advancing while new games always face an uphill battle. It's not like Blizzard is out there publishing whitepapers on how to get rid of bots in your games, lol. Are yo ukidding? They want you to be crushed under the weight of the bots.

It'll come with time, bots will go away or at least decrease.

Spoken like a raging Wildstar fanboi.   Stop making excuses or saying "Other game has more bots and is amateur".  Fact is, that YOUR game has problems that needs to be addressed.

Give Carbine time, ESO finally got rid of their bots a few weeks back for the most part, I'm sure Carbine is working on their game as well.

These aren't problems that can be solved overnight, if ZOS can salvage the issue, I'm sure Carbine can as well.

After getting a long stretch of games with 1-3 bots, I took a break from BGs about a week ago. For grins, I just hopped into a game and there were 5 bots, 2 of which had gold selling websites as their guilds.

I'm all for giving Carbine time to resolve this issue but it's not an issue that players should be paying for. If you're a BG diehard, I'd cancel your sub until they fix it.

That's weird WildStar reviews don't talk about bots, ESO reviews never failed to mention them. I can only assume that there are no bots in WS.

One question to clarify what is the goal of having bots in a PVP match? Are not they easy targets?

want 7 free days of playing? Try this

And yet none of them were running set patterns, each time he said they were they ran someplace else and he stuttered.  One guy he claimed was bottling was actually fighting.

I saw a bunch of bads, including the maker of the video who was doing the exact same thing as the guys he claimed were bots.

For the record I don't play the game or have any interest to.

  • LudwikLudwik Member UncommonPosts: 407
For the record if you watch that video and think those are players, I wouldn't put much stock in your opinion anyway.

    An NCsoft game.

Bots and hack are pretty much an huge part of everysingle game of the company.

As the game dies so will the bots as it wont be profitable to keep them going.  Give it 6 months and I'm sure you wont see many bots.

I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.

Making a snap judgement without playing the game is silly. Bots are plaguing the BG's and making them unplayable most of the time, so yes it's a pretty large problem. And I play at least an hour or so each day.

Bots have been around since before MMOs.  They'll always be around.  That's why I couldn't understand why people were so mad at ESO about the bots...they're in every game.

Agree, looks really like nightmare. If I would be interested in battlegrounds for sure would quit. But to me only pve and questing apply and there I have not seen any boot. And game, gameplay, graphics, style, depth, ... all is great. For sure subbing at the end of free time.
