Hello everyone, I’m the GM of Forgotten Covenant. As a casual guild recruiting before launch, we approach Wildstar with a little more laid back attitude while still holding on to a well-organized guild style and structure. We are a few friends and acquaintances that have casually played MMO’s for years with various levels of guild and game involvement, and have been waiting a long time for a game like Wildstar to come along.Like many MMO players these days we are of an age where we have jobs, careers, and commitments. We may not have as much time to dedicate to games as younger people, but we are still gamers at heart. We want to allow people to play the way they want to when they have the time to on evenings and weekends, and give them the chance to take the time to build a community of friends they can talk to and team up with as they progress. We understand that sometimes people need to take a short break to deal with real world problems and vacations, and are fine with scheduled hiatuses.

This casual approach also needs to be balanced with organization and leadership. Many casual guilds fall into the trap of organizing and then leaving members on their own to make small groups, but never really progress together as a cooperative team. Because of this we are looking for members that are always open to playing cooperatively with others in whatever content area of the game they choose to play in, not all of the time, but some of the time. The mentoring system allows anyone to adjust their level to another’s so they can play with partners that may be behind. Also the developers are doing what they can to reward cooperative play and once guilds realize that the renown and influence currencies build up faster based on how many players are grouping together, co-op will become a huge factor for everyone. This places more importance on teamwork rather than the size of a guild.

As a Wildstar focused guild starting from scratch, we will probably have a small group to start, we plan to gradually build up once a solid foundation is in place. If this takes more time we may look into working with other small guilds to start raiding. Having fun and playing how we want comes first. We have policies in place to promote members being mature and respectful to each other, and to deal with disputes in an orderly fashion that gives all sides a chance to be heard, but is not afraid to take action against those causing harm to others or the guild as a whole. We are also giving members a few basic rights to show that the guild as a whole respects its members as well.

This style of guild is not one that will reach Elder Game content quickly and may have to raid with other guilds to start, and we ask that our members understand this and accept it. There will be a period during which we learn and level, build our organization, listen to our members input about how we should approach Elder Game, and set up more and less dedicated groups for elder content all while we continue to grow our membership. I’m looking forward to the challenge.

We are looking for members that fit with this vision, extensive MMO experience is not a requirement, but some sort of prior MMO experience is preferred. What is important is that you are willing to learn the game and consider good advice. We will also be looking to promote those who connect well with the community and help with the guild’s organization to positions to help moderate and to coordinator positions that focus on an aspect of the guild.

When we do begin running elder content, we will have a PVE focus toward getting members prepared for, learning, and running raids. Times and specifics are not set, but weekends or several nights every other week are a couple of possibilities we are considering. PVP is not off limits, and we want to support member PVP groups and look into getting a warplot as a secondary goal. Warplots are just too novel of a game experience to ignore, and ultimately we want members to be able to experience all of the content the game has to offer.

As an Exile guild we are going for a space western theme as you’ll see on our website which we invite you to check out and look at the about section for more information on our policies and application process. We also have a public forum for questions, or you can send me a PM. We will also have an active mumble server at launch that will be used for chat and group content. Forgotten Covenant invokes the ideas of the American West and the Exiles of a place where people can roam free from overbearing authority, but still rely on each other to survive the harsh wilds of a new world. Update:

We have built up a strong core group of active 50's as well as several leveling members that will expand our endgame team.  We are running instances to get pre-raid drops and our 50 group is either gearing for silver runs or getting silvers.  Now is a great time to join us if you are nearing 50 or just hitting 50 and want a casual no pressure group that is actually pursuing attunement.  With a few more active 50's we will be in sight of a 20 man group once we master vet instances.  There are members on most nights, but Wednesdays and weekends have become particularly active nights.

Don't think we are only for 50 raiders!  We welcome characters of all levels, and don't judge by level, play speed, or gear/rune quality.  We are open to helping those of any level, just ask!  Enjoy the security of a guild where you can level at your own pace and still have an endgame group waiting when the 50 ding goes off.
