Will this change?

Hi,

I bought FFXIV one week ago , the game looks good but the questline and mainly  the Combat System are so weird.... I mean, i am close to lv 20 and my desire is avoid any mob coz combat is very very boring . all skills has the same cooldown, any class deals the same damage . It´s insane .  Will this change at high levels?

The combat becomes faster higher levels because you're using abilities in between your abilities on the 2.5 second global cooldown.  Combat becomes faster not necessarily because of the skills, but because later bosses require A LOT of movement mechanics.

However, if you prefer GW2 or Tera type action combat, this game will never be that.  This is a traditional tab targetting game.  Many people love it as is, many people hate it.  Many people have quit the game for this reason.

If the combat is not fun for you, don't torture yourself by playing with the hope that it will get better.  But, I also know people who hated the combat in the beginning but loved it in the end for the reasons I stated above.

    Decide for yourself.

All of the classes feel completely different from each-other. Try a monk (pugilist)

I've played a healer in most of the MMO's I've played. I've been so used to standing a little ways away from the mob and concentrating on people's health and just healing. FFXIV was like this in the beginning but as time went on I was told to do some damage spells as well as heal. I had a hard time adapting to that but I got used to it. Later on, I had to also learn how to pay attention to the bosses along with healing and doing some damage spells here and there.  At end game the Bosses do so many crazy things! Now I'm running everywhere, trying to pay attention to the boss all while trying to heal and do a little damage. I never would have thought that a healer had to do all of these things at once. It is so much fun and exciting. I remember after I beat Pharos Sirius, I felt like I can take on anything!

My suggestion is to maybe watch some videos of some later fights and see for yourself.

Things start to feel a little better with the combat around level 30 once you start unlocking jobs.  By level 50 if the combat system hasn't grown on you I don't think anything will really make you like it.

    This.

Combat in earlier levels is a drag, kinda, long GCD and small amounts of skills to use. Gets better with time, though, when you have a lot more abilities to use, and managing your cooldowns in between casts/attacks, not to mention loads of movement to keep you on edge.

But as said above, if you want faster paced combat, Pugilist/Monk might be something for you, as they get a buff that increases their attack speed quite a bit. Other than that, give it a go until you reach about level 30, that's where things really start happening, if you still don't feel it, you might as well spend your time on something else.

Not sure where the 'their all the same' in combat really comes from, as in my experience fighting is about as varied as it gets, from being a highly mobile archer to a close combat pugilist or even gladiator, but the styles of fighting are completely different. My guess is that OP hasn't realised that some of them are not meant to just stand there and get hit, archer especially, i know that for me at least, i tend to circle at a distance, keeping out of melee range, although against another ranged or magic wielding foe its really about dodging and dps. Pugilist is a lot of fun too but their not a stand in one place and fight type either, as most of the attacks get increased benefits from flanking/rear attacks, again you can fight and move at the same time. Thaumaturge's need as much range as possible if soloing so that by the time the critter reaches them, they should be mostly dead anyway, the only real issue being balancing aspects so that you don't run out of mana. Its all fairly easy to master, and really comes into its own when your playing in a group, so playing on the right server is a huge factor, so many of them are language orientated, for instance, unless you really know French you wouldn't want to play on the Moogle server image

FFXIV;ARR is a game where it helps if your able to make friends, like most MMO's the experience of playing the game is superior if you do. Which is imo at least, a really good thing in todays MMO environments where solocentricity seems to be the norm.image

Give a try to each class becouse some of them feel diferent even if all of them share that slow combat mechanic some of them manage to not feel as slow. Try lancer or pugilist.

It's made that way to accommodate for the new MMO players. It's still a bit too fast paced but there has to be a middle road. Anyway, if you consider the pacing from the perspective of a new MMO player it's not so weird. Of course the difficulty and mechanics will ramp up considerably later on.
