Any Story

renrinkenrenrinken Member Posts: 29

I am a player who values immersion and more importantly the over arching story that brings the word together, that establishes motivations, and reason to progress.

For this reason I am almost exclusively a P2P MMO player. In general I find most F2P try to only focus on gameplay and ignore things like immersion and story.

From what I seen of the world of ArcheAge I like, it seems like a very interesting world to me. But I see very little mention of story. So I wanted to get opinions and information on what story exists in the game. I am hoping this may be first F2P title I can get immersed in and not be told "Go make your own story".

The story (lore) is based upon a book from a korean fantasy author and  is extremely popular in Korea (bestseller). Unfortunately there is no translation as yet.

In alpha, the story is still in korean (all the voiceovers are not translated yet), so we are all waiting for this.

You can please some MMO-players all of the time and you can please all MMO-players some of the time but you can't please all MMO-players all of the time.

If you hit a spell you can not use in combat some Korean chick tells me I'm a dumbass or something of that nature.

The game has lots of content I will say again if your on the fence wait till it comes out and give it a shot.

The first few levels is like any another MMO, give it to the mid 30s if by then you are not having fun and find it interesting the game is probably not for you.   If you followed the quest lines by then you have a rowboat, a large farm upgraded from small, at least one mount, at least one combat pet, an upgraded glider, you have done a couple trade runs, least seen what the crafting system is like, maybe spent some jail time depending on what you have been doing, been part of a jury.

While the voice overs and story might or might not be good I really have no clue the other players is what is going to make the game in the end that is where I guess the sandbox part comes in.  Some people like that some people do not.
