in Final Fantasy XI
Does anyone know of any role-players or talk of a RP designated server?  Myself, my girlfriend, and two mutual friends of ours are looking for people who role-play their characters.

    As another of the few people who actually tries to RP in MMORPGs I also have interest in a roleplay designated server, which will hpefully be lacking in Taru-Taru. :::^D:: If I find out anything on this subject I will most definitely be sure to post here about it.

    An RP designated server looks doubtful, I'm just going to act clueless when people talk about RL, hopefully they'll find it endearing image

    On DAOC we had a "Unofficial" RP Server. People saw the posts on the forums and joined Prydwen. It worked surprisingly well. If anyone knows a Server where the RP's are then we all jump on it! :-)

    daoc had real designated role playing servers though..., anyway in ffxi there are no rp servers and i havn't heard of any rp server.  But if you guys ever do organize one it would be hard because eveyrone would have to get one of those world passes since you cant chose what server you start on.

    As much as I enjoy RPing, an RP in FFXI is very unlikely. Since the server distribution is random, allowing players to opt for an RP server upon character selection would lead to everyone who wants to play with their friend going to the RP server. Maybe they could make an RP flag like everquest, that purely identified you as a roleplayer instead of having a useful function in EQ (hiding your level/class but keeping your guild title). That way true RPers would keep the flag on. /shrug, I'm tired =P

    hm well on ffxi stratics forum it seems some people are trying to get the rpers to play on Ifrit.

    So let “Ifrit” be the first unofficial RP sever and pass the word around.

    Soon any gamers on there will be leaving in droves as we say “Your pardon?” to their question, “Any buffs pse m8?” :-)

     

    Btw I was talking about RP servers for DAOC in Europe. We never had any official ones before I left anyway.
