Damn bots and gold sellers!

Let me state at the outset that I think ESO is a great game BUT Zenimax and the guys who are running the game are useless. Initailly I enjoyed the experience but as time has gone on the game has been dogged by spamming gold sellers - not only in the mail but filling up the chat window so much that chatting at times is impossible. As for the "cheaters" who install bots at various points in the game around bosses, the site could not possibly post what I think about them - just having spent ages trying to even hit a boss that had been surrounded by 15 (fifteen bots). Zenimax needs to get it's act together and rid the game of this low life or real players will be leaving in droves. It might be better if there were GM's in game to see what is actually happening but I feel that the game support in any issue you have is responded to with an automated reply and no more is heard giving you the feeling that they don't give a damn

    This is exaggerated and emotionally-biased.

    1) Bots exist at the first 10 levels of the game, in SOME dungeons. They are being dealt with. They're implementing a change on how many times you can farm a boss and they're consistently banning.

    2) The in-game mail system flags and picks up most spam mail which means it never reaches you. I can see how some gets through but personally I've had a total of ZERO spam mails in my inbox.

Having already played the game for almost 200 hours, I've had one PM, a single message, from a single user, about buying gold.

I understand your frustration but don't hit the forums with your overstated exaggerated misinformation.

The bots seem to have leveled up a bit. I am L35 and am seeing them boss camping in the public dungeons around that level. Quite annoying.

Have you played the game today ? I agree it is frustrating but it is not an overexageration - there were 15 bots surrounding the boss I was trying to get at and just today I had 4 mails from gold sellers. You may be correct in that bots are only in the lower level dungeons as my main is only level 20 at the moment but it remains to be seen if the dross of the gaming world are rooted out before the end of the "free" month and how many players have just had enough.

    Fanboi or Zenimax employee?

    1. BS and wrong. If you have played 200 hours when was the last time you were even in a level 20 dungeon? 30?

    2. I have had 5 this week already. I call BS again that you have had 0. And chat is plagued by these spammers to the point I have to stop what I am doing and ignore them every 5-10 minutes it seems.

People like you are the problem here, we want this fixed and have fanbois fighting us on it because they cannot stand someone saying something bad about their "wittle game", just stop already.

Back in the day when L2 launched, there was about 3 weeks of relative calm. Then we started seeing this influx of a guild named "CN". It was a guild filled with non-English speaking gold sellers / botters who would camp every dungeon 24/7 and spam chat channels hocking their wares.

Needless to say, NCsoft did nothing to correct this, thus the player base left in droves!

I'm not saying this is the fate of ESO, I'm just saying...

    I got your Deliverance!

Add random elite patrolls to any dungeon or game area, real players can evade them, botts will get killed, its not so hard to create  an if then  ....   If bot pattern is detected, then spawn elie patroll of several hard to kill mobs...

The goldspam is an absolute nightmare. Worse now even than FFXIV:ARR after launch.

Every time I log into the game, I have to spend at least 15 minutes ignoring and Reporting goldspammers to clear chat again.

Just to have a new set of goldspammers joining chat and all starts over. To the point that I just don't bother anymore, otherwise all you do is ignoring and Reporting.

It's a joke that in 2014 they cannot get this under Control. It's not like it's a new problem. It's going on for many years and other MMO studios had this under control years ago.

The botting problem is even more of a joke! It's so out of hand and so friggin obvious. All it takes is just a single friggin GM logging into the game, check the Public Dungeons and perma ban those accounts.

But really.... With all the dupe exploits going on as well. I have already canceled my sub and don't feel like logging in anymore.

Nice looking game, fun gameplay. Getting completely run into the ground due to amateurism and incompetency.

not what i'd call an exageration when you log on and before you even say hi in chat up pops spam and the mail box lets you know you have mail. that turns out to be from spammers.

admitted i'm only lvl 20 so who knows about what it's like later on. but with all the bots down the dungeons farming mobs they will go up in level as well - future gold spammers for the mid and then high lvls unless they are delt with.

the fact that they can send you mail shows just how bad things are if they can get your user name to send you mail. make it so that the only people who see you log in are people who are on your friends list.

if you want some stuff sent in the post you are already in chat with the person who's sending it, so they can get your mail address then not be able to get it automaticly.

give players a bot button, so can report and ss bots at the touch of a key.

someone else suggested a patrol of elites to wipe out people who are not there to move out of the way. good idea. asherons call had something like this ages ago down one of their olthoi dungeons  - ninja's. all was well initialy, then even the ninjas got taken out by bots. think same would happen here but it kept them down for a while

i look this wrecked because i've got GIST.
    Whats your excuse?

but in L2 you could kill then, or at least hit then hard enough so they hp will be pretty low and let a mob finish him off (with I did several time in any open pvp game), but since Eso is not a pvp game well....

In the starter zones there can be up to a half-dozen gold spammers and you might get 1-2 emails a day from gold sellers.  Dealing with this is not a 30 minute a day enterprise.  It is annoying because of the phasing - so if you leave and return in the starter zones you will pick up spammers who were not in your shard before.  There is virtually no gold spam outside of the starter zones.

There are bots in dungeons, but most of the characters around the bosses are not bots - they're players, which you can tell simply by using /say and asking them.  Again, this is a pretty localized problem - they should work on it, but if you're like me you only run into the public dungeons for skyshards and the exploration credit and don't burn a lot of time in them.  In their current form they're among the least interesting areas to do.  (If you run across one that isn't camped like mad they're actually a ton of fun, but you have to go to the high level areas to find that.)

red -- your insane to think they are only in the first 10 lvls of the game ..begs the question"do you play"? they are in every dungeon..EVERY DUNGEON that has a boss and every dungeon that is close to a city

yellow--wrong again..hell im even getting spam with headers that  claim they are from ESO / Zen and its spam from someone selling gold or items

blue-- i have never gotten a PM from a gold spammer..never why..imo because it will give their user name but for what ever the reason i havent...but i do get random guild invites from them advertizing their gold sites

green-- over 200+ hours of playing and you claim none of this is going on is rather bs ...your either really lucky like winning the lotto lucky..or blind and not seeing whats going on around you
