CasinoRPG: Launch Day Arrives After Year-long Beta

The launch day for CasinoRPG has officially arrived after a year long beta. CasinoRPG blends several game types including role-playing, tycoon and city-building with casino games. Players use winnings to build their empires.

Thousands of social casino games exist today, but they all have one thing in common - you can't do anything with your winnings. CasinoRPG changes this by creating a massive world around these casino games. Players start as janitors at a casino (all casinos in the game are owned by other players), and through jobs, missions and gambling, one can eventually work their way up to buy a plot of land and build their own casinos.

CasinoRPG has been under development for over two years, most recently completing a successful Kickstarter campaign and closed beta testing in 2013. Open beta testing has been progressing since September of last year, with over 17,000 players actively participating. During this span, all of the artwork in the game has been completely revamped, hundreds of new features added and thousands of bugs squashed.

If I could deposit and cash-out, I'd definitely play it. Until that day, I'll stick to real Poker / casino's for my gambling fix.

Always hating on instances in MMOs! Open worlds, open PvP, territory control and housing please. More persistence, more fun.

If there ever was a video that was going to get the attention of polititions, this sounds like the game.

    LOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So there is really a MMOCasino style game!!!!! And I thought I was joking when I rebut some of the posters' cloud 9 wishes for a perfect MMORPG. And yeah, it should allow legal online gambling. How about using Bitcoin?

The possibility of the universe collapsing into a singularity is higher than the birth of a perfect MMORPG.

    Makes absolutely no sense.

If everyone has to start off working at a casino as a janitor, and work your way up to owning your own casino, then how are all casinos owned by players? Obviously there had to be at least one npc casino for the first players to work their way up from "janitor".

Or they sell casinos for real cash, in which case what's the point?

There are no NPC casinos, the first casinos were ones owned by the development team, and we play the game as well. There are now hundreds of casinos in the game, all owned and designed by other players.

This is pretty cool.  I think people who play casino games (through any medium) will find this has a lot of potential.

People who don't play casino games won't get it... :)
