Do you choose star ratings or what

This question just suddely popped in my mind. Do the staff actually go and put a certain number of stars for a person or do you guys have a program that puts them in for you based on visitation times and post numbers.  Sorry if this question has been already asked or you have already explained it

    We have a secret program/method we use, sorry that we can not reveal it to the public eye.  We like to call it "SUPER SECRET", because that is what it is, just one look at it and you would realize that it is truelly "SUPER SECRET".  If we were to reveal to you the secret then we could no longer refer to it as "SUPER SECRET".   I mean seriously how cool would it be to have a "SUPER SECRET" that everyone knows about... it wouldn't be very "SUPER SECRET" anymore would it?   It is just one of those things in life that you must accept oh and you should be proud to know of the "SUPER SECRET", because to us there is no "SUPER SECRET".

    Ya i thought that too, but i saw this one guy with 300 some posts and I only have like 30 and I had more stars.  Well i do visit this page like 10 times a day once everyday so maybe that could be the reason.  I find it funny to listen to everyone talk about random things and me just sit off and watch. image

    im nearing 5,000 posts and people with 1,000 posts have more stars

    its jsut a way of life

    I don't understand why people are pissed off at the rating system anyway.  Does it really mean that much if you have 5 stars?  Who cares?  No one.  No one cares about the number of post counts either.  Quality over quantity.

    That is the idea, not to mention activity.  You could have 10,000 posts and still have less stars with someone with a 1,000 posts.  Shelk hit the nail on the head, we are looking for quality, not quantity.  Activity does not mean spam the forums to earn "post's", it means enjoy our website on a daily basis and post constructively, helping to make our website the "best" in the business.

    I never said I was pissed off and I don't know of that many people who are.  Maybe you should learn to read before you answer a topic that never said anything about anyone being mad at you foo image

    Ahh believe it or not, having 5 stars has it's benefits, actually a few big benefits.  Don't ask, we are not telling what the benefits are ;)

    I just wanted to go ahead and say that I love my 5 stars.  Having 5 stars is so wonderful...go me!  Yep, life is great with 5 stars.  The sun shines a little brighter, the birds sing a little happier, and dogs hump my leg a little harder...oh how nice it is to have 5 stars!  image

    I believe the reason why people care about the stars is because they are gamers right? In mmorpg its all about your lvl. You get more respect. The star rating is just like their lvl in a game. Get what I mean?
