a fantastic game indeed, storm legion expansion content is just incredible.

As for Queues, they are pretty much instant if you play anything but dps.Play tank ,healer, support, rift is pretty much only game that allows almost every class to play any role, and probably every role with 2,7 soul trees.

Having second calling isnt all that complicated and its fun

    Is it polished?

    Yes.

Are the soul trees well done?

    Yes.

    Is combat innovative?

    Nope.

Is the game interesting, with exciting races and a good story and unique setting?

No. Not one bit. It's so generic that even GW2 is more interesting in its setting. I tried Rift several times, and just couldn't get over how BLAND everything felt. Which is sad, because it DOES have a great F2P set up.

    But it's just. Boring.

i think one way to make this more fun is to form a kinda league guild where you have two factions, then you use the pvp dimensionals and actually roleplay the events of the areas.....

the main issue i have i came form a action mmorpg GW2 and its click n kill is slower thats all....its really got a neat housing thing that is truly under utilized....

Tried to get into it again recently after quitting WoW (until WoD).  Ended up back in GW2.  Just not the kind of game I can get into.

    That's complete and utter bullcrap.

Every single MMO has the same problem when your playing DPS.  Play a tank or healer and problem is solved.

Are you onto something or just on something?

But there is more to it than questing , you can do instances , pvp , conquests , chronicles and more ! Lot's of engaging content !

And of course you can play with rouge as a rogue ! Also we have riftraids and world Bosses ! Thx

What it needs is to just give up. Trion should shut down Rift and put all focus on Trove...but even that looks like crap.

Rift since the Free to Play transition has been slowly but steadily been turning into an abomination. BiS gear and items sold through the Cash shop in Gambling RNG lockboxes, script based upscaling of 3 year old gear released as new content with the same models, raids that reuse the dungeon and boss models and even big parts of the original fights, the paid for souls that since F2P have become #1 souls for their respective class and are required to play any optimal spec (and in 2-3 weeks more new paid for souls that you can bet will be the exact same, not to mention the further dumbing down of the game via allowing every class to everything, HEALING WARRIORS AND ROGUES, TANK cloth MAGES ,shits and giggles).

An apocalypse is coming for Rift which was only around till recently because it was the only legit raid mmo for those who didnt want easy mode raiding in that other game, and that apocalypse is called Wildstar, a finaly raid centric new mmo. Enjoying the money you milked out of the few that stuck around still Dagy? Not for long, and thanks for running this game to the ground in world record time.

Yes, there are quest hubs, that is true. But then there are quests that take you to a part of the zone where you pick up other quests as you go along, a bit like in ToR with the sidequests. I find for spacing out quests it is better than WoW's christmas tree-like towns where almost all of the NPCs have golden ! above their heads.

Then let's not forget all of the other activities that you can do as you level, some of which don't exist in the first generation of questhub games i.e. rifts and invasions. If you rift or fight invaders whether a full-scale invasion or killing smaller, random outposts, that breaks up the tedium of questhubbing.

I do find Rift a little lacking in feel, but it is not any less monotonous than any other recent themepark as far as what you can choose to do. My problems with Rift are that the world is bland, the souls and classes are overall not that interesting, and the only real endgame is raiding.

Playing MUDs and MMOs since 1994.

I find Rift polished but bland and boring.  Anything other than instanced content and the Rifts themselves is easily and soloable and after running dungeons so many times to get better versions of the same gear to run the same dungeons at higher difficulty, I got quite bored.  PVP was all FTM-driven, and the new content was not enough to keep me interested.  Sadly, I think that MMOs are just falling off my radar after playing them way back since UO in 1998 and EQ in 1999.

I Would Rather Go Down A Mile Long Slide Covered In Razor Blades Into A Pool Of Lemon Juice And Salt , Than Play Rift Again.

Its Not Just Boring , Its Mind Numbingly Boring .

I like the game, i always liked it. I think its a polished game, with superb classes, good pve content and excellent f2p system, but i dont know why i cant stick to it for more than a month every time i get back to it...

All Time Favorites: EQ1, WoW, EvE, GW1
    Playing Now: WoW, ESO, GW2

I have a love / apathy relationship with Rift.

I have put a lot of time and money into playing the game and at times I love it, Chloromancer for me is still the single most fun class I have played in this style of mmo.

The game however is one that for me if played for an extended period begins to lose my interest, and so I come and go playing it for hours on end and then leaving it only to rediscover it a few months later and go through the same cycle.
