Any mmo worth its salt should be like a good prostitute when it comes to its game world- One hell of a faker, and a damn good shaker!
ESO, Wildstar has no appeal to me even though I know people that are playing it. Raiding no longer interests me, and arena pvp doesn't interest me either. Plus I don't really like the art style. ESO seems to be a lot closer to what I'm looking for, even though it's far from perfect.
Probably Wildstar, I don't care about raiding but I dislike even more the red vs blue type of pvp TESO will have without faction lock and alliance specific armors(I have GW2 for that anyway). At least with Wildstar I get an open world, less loading screens,no megaserver and better combat.
Wildstar because houses on land that get rocketed into the sky!

None. I'm sure that WS is good game and I hope people will enjoy it.. But I'm fed up with cartoony games and 'sillyness'. I want a more mature setting. I was hoping ESO could provide that but I cannot support the cash shop model and Collector's edition exclusives. So I let my wallet my speak for me.. That's the only language that will bring about any change.
I do hope that people, no matter what game, will have a good time!
Why let something so silly ruin your fun. Unfortunately it's a business and they are in it to make money. That will never change.

Sheep or Shepard- Make up your own damn mind.
It is true, the older you get, the less patience you have for those who watch a Youtube video and from that believe they know it all.
Having tested ESO i find it a really boring quest grind so I shall not be playing that.
I have not tried Wildstar but I am not a fan of the super catroon graphics they have gone with so that has put me off before I have even tried it...
So for now I voted none.. but i will give wildstar a go if i can get into a beta test for it.
I didnt get bored of any quest in ESO in any of the factions, i feel they flow more naturally (my opinion). If you feel ESO questing was a boring grind then the best thing you can do is skip Wildstar. WS questing is the only reason im not buying the game because If feels as boring and grindy as the worst F2P mmo (a bagillion of repetitive and boring quests without meaningfull story behind them, only a filler for extra exp). I want to buy both games but im skipping both for different reasons.
Neither. TESO is so boring it put me to sleep. It brings ZERO innovation to the table and is just every other MMO with a new skin - it doesn't really do MMO or Elder Scrolls particularly well either. Wildstar made me want to vomit rainbows and throw my PC against the wall after about 2 minutes.
They are both piles of turd, although at least TESO won't give me an Aneurysm after 30 seconds.

Don't hold back. Tell us how you really feel....
TESO just has a more realistic and immersive world. With the minimal UI, I spent much more time looking at the world, etc than playing my UI.
I had trouble connecting to Wildstar. Even WoW has a bit of an epic feel when you start a new character. The graphics are bad but feel 100 times more realistic than Wildstar. Wildstar felt like playing a arcade game or something way over the top with only a focus on humor.
I'm really intrigued to see what the player numbers for these two games will look like by the end of this year.
They definitely focus on very different "core groups".
ESO has the backing of the very popular Elder Scrolls franchise, but that rep was built on single-player games. WoW had a similar situation at launch, and that worked spectacularly well for them, but many (most ?) Warcraft RTS fans had never played an MMO before WoW launched, but they knew the IP intimately.
But Blizzard didn't try to convert their RTS into a MMORTS, they made a MMORPG instead, so the fans were playing a different style of game in world based on a familiar IP. ESO is is turning a single-player RPG into a MMORPG, which may not go as smoothly from the fans' viewpoint.
Wildstar has no existing franchise to leverage, but they're clearly targeting players that enjoy WoW's way of doing things. That's an undeniably large pool of possible players.
There's a huge potential for an unforeseen outcome for both these games...
I've got enough good single player games in my queue to easily keep me busy for the next year. And frankly, I'm simply not interested in playing class based, linear theme park MMOs anymore. Which I'm now convinced both of these are. But of course it's interesting to read what people are saying about them as they get more time in each. So I voted "none" (the word is neither, BTW).
But a few upcoming games which might get me off the bench in 2014 are Archeage, SWGemu, and The Repopulation. EQN looks like 2015 to me, so...

I don't think either is a good choice for anyone who is war weary from playing World of Warcraft generation titles. The problem is the core system of both is built off of the same linearly driven story and progression models used over and over in the industry. Once you hit end game and the content gets padded out the game turns right back into a skinner box hell as the developers keep churning out content to keep the lights on.
Really, the system kind of screws developers and players, since the developers get married to the game thanks to having to be the soul content creators for tens of thousands of customers, and players get stuck in a burn and wait cycle that can be particularly brutal.
ESO should be what Archeage is. Archeage will likely be my home and currently is the MMORPG I'm playing. If ESO had sandbox background like Archeage it would be much better but I think I'd rather play ESO even if its for a short time then a WoW clone with direction action combat.
ESO for me. I'm looking forward to immersing myself in an MMO world again and taking my time.
I'm giving Wildstar another try this weekend but pretty much have the same impression I did last time. Way too cartoony for me. I don't find the world charming or immersive at all. I really wanted to love this game too. As others have said, quests are pretty boring although I do love the housing. The graphic style and clutter of the world is the biggest turn off for me.

They are both piles of turd, although at least TESO won't give me an Aneurysm after 30 seconds.
I'm done with linear quest hubs and no freedom handholding MMO's. I really struggled to make it through 2 hours of TESO (even though I like the mouse look combat and the more realistic gfx). The PvE quest grinding is on a whole new level of boring. If they didn't completely kill the opportunity to progress without doing their stupid quests I would probably buy it, but they nerfed that. I can't imagine I would have made it through 5 minutes of quest hubbing in WS.
I personally do not find ESO's world that interesting. The questing just doesn't flow well for me either and the animations and presentation of it all to me is just not right. The combat is very clicky as well. It does have some nice things going for it, for example the progression of your characters skills and stuff. That's nice...but that so far is the only positive for me.
Wildstar is just fun. The combat is fun and I'm one of the people that really enjoy the lore. Yeah, you have to really do a lot of reading to get it but I come from a RPG age where that was obvious that you'd have to read when playing a RPG game. I actually like that. If it means they will be able to get more stuff into the game faster than a VO game could then more power to them. The people that don't care about the story will skip over it any ways if they had to read it or not.
Yeah the game is very traditional, but come now...some of you were BEGGING for this when GW2 came ou. Hardcore gear progression raiding...trinity...etc etc...so now it can't be a bad thing.
It is a good thing that two very different games are coming out and like someone else said...I could see them both potentially being the next big MMO...or the next big failure.
ESO could capture a larger crowd because of it's IP and that it is trying to do something different...on the other hand it's not the traditional MMO so that is always a risk.
Wildstar is sooo much like early WoW...moreso than any other MMO I can think of right now. Is this good or bad? Time will tell, in the end I think how much post game support a game has makes or break it. I think SWTOR would have done A LOT better if it had that post game support. I think a lot of people expected that their personal stories would still continue, that the content would just flow right in. It never did.
For a game requiring a monthly subscription, there needs to be monthly updates. It's a lot to ask...for some reason I believe that Carbine will do this. I think the lack of VOs will make it a lot easier to push out content.
Yeah this is just so flawed. These games are so far apart, they both have their own individual crowds to appeal to. ESO obviously appeals to a wider audience and Wildstar a more niche crowd. For me Wildstar will be it, I was not happy with how they developed ESO. I am a huge fan of ES games but ESO just didn't do it for me. Maybe one day but I just feel the zones are to small and there is way to many overall rules of play. Wildstar on the other hand has been super fun and makes me remember the early days of mmo gaming.
Modded Minecraft spoiled it for us (with us I mean friends I play online games with). I am not really interested atm in gimmicky themepark MMO's. EQNext might change things, who knows, but that is so far off still. Then there are other titles like Repopulation and Archeage we keep an eye on. But not sure about those myself yet. As for the RPG part, singleplayer RPG games are so much better at this (story, immersive world, quests) then MMO's.

Voted "none". Different reasons, same results. Not appealing.
the people that said both are rich,
i will buy wild star one day like i said before if there is nothing better out there.
dungens ,dungens and more content with other players that's what i want not just levelling.

This
But really OP, my advice would be to wait a couple of months after the launch of each game to see how it goes.
I hate these kinds of poll.
These games are so different they shouldn't be put in some random poll to see which is more popular.
both games appeal to different people ( and some in between) and i'm pretty sure both games will have a good ammount of players subbing and playing.

Definitely ESO.
More mature graphics
Immersive world and lore
Better quests
Very interesting free class system. Make a char of the style you like or after a fantasy hero. Its amazing.
Classic medieval fantasy setting everyone loves.
DAOC style AvA
I feel the same way. I don't think either game is good enough to warrant a sub.
