Anyone else waiting on Wardlords of Draenor now that ESO failed?

I really thought ESO was going to be the one to make me stop playing WoW for a while.

    WHAT? ESO failed already?

I was going to buy WOD regardless of how ESO fairs since i am really looking forward to owning my own garrison and play new character models. I am quite sure that WOD is going to break all previous records for WOW sales.

  • hockeyplayrhockeyplayr Member UncommonPosts: 604

I preordered WOD, but i also plan on getting ESO and pre-ordering wildstar.  The releases are far enough apart for me to get bored of each one before the next comes out.  If I happen to really like one game, no harm no foul, my free 30 days isn't going anywhere.

I can't see how anybody who's into World of Pandas could possibly be into ESO, no matter how polished it is.  They're completely different games.  I think Wildstar might be right up your alley, my friend.

Maybe because you are very narrow minded? hell i have been playing EVE and WOW at same time.

Boy the generation these days are spoiled.

    1.  Yes the game will have bugs on launch..   all mmo will, not new news.  And no its not a failure because of it.

    2.  Its their first real MMORPG by Zenimax and Bethesda, I think they deserve a little credit for trying to put an ES game online.  and wont be stop trying to fix it until all the bugs are gone.

    3.  Maybe games shouldn't have beta if people are going to call a game a failure before its even released.

OMG it failed! Wish some one would of told me so I would not of had fun doing the beta..
  • GestankfaustGestankfaust Member UncommonPosts: 1,989

    LOL!

Failed? ok....as long as you and most in this thread are away from ESO when the "beta weekend build" isn't what you have to "TEST"...is gone and we are on the real build.....I'm ok with that.

You people wouldn't listen when they said the weekend build was for stress testing get what you deserve. Though, I would have at least not let more people test the last weekend til release if I wasn't gonna update to AT LEAST the PST build. That's just me. But at least I'm smart enough to listen to people I trust that tell me the differences.

But the salivating masses and trolls now have plenty to feed themselves either way. I will miss you at the release...

not all games, and many have fewer bugs than the garbage that is currently on the beta client. progression-breaking quest bugs, phasing still awful, etc are all extremely major issues that aren't acceptable at launch. ui bugs and other minor things are expected - game halting bugs are not.

    2.  Its their first real MMORPG by Zenimax and Bethesda, I think they deserve a little credit for trying to put an ES game online.  and wont be stop trying to fix it until all the bugs are gone.

WoW was blizzard's first MMORPG and had no issues turning an RTS series into the most successful MMORPG in history.

    3.  Maybe games shouldn't have beta if people are going to call a game a failure before its even released.

issues in betas are expected, and it's possible that these bugs may be fixed before launch. however, given that the phasing has been an issue throughout the games entire beta history, and even low level quests (which should be designed, implemented and fully working before upper level content) still have bugs in a beta that is expected to essentially be the launch client. if simple quests involving just talking to people aren't working right, what makes you think that any of the endgame content will be working bug-free before 2015 rolls around? they've had a similar amount of time to fix these issues.

i was looking forward to ESO. after playing this beta for 1 day, i've decided against not only preordering the game, but i will not be buying the game at all, nor will i play if it goes F2P. the combat doesn't flow, graphics are mediocre at best (all the people hyping that up makes me laugh), buggy quests that are the same as any other MMORPG involving go here, kill this, gather that, talk to him, come back to me. nothing dynamic, just a lot of load screens and a boring, depressing color palette to go along with it.

to the OP: yes, i'm far more excited for WoD than ESO at this point.

How is saying that both games are different and stating that in fact most people who are interested in a cartoony game are not going to be interested in a game like ESO. Seriously speaking not all people who play WoW would be interested in what ESO has to offer them because they will be too drawn towards their ideal of what the graphic has to offer them.

I'm guessing looney toons cartoons are what you consider "superior graphics".  Anybody who dislikes ESO's graphics just have no taste, as far as I'm concerned.  The graphics in this game are better than most of the MMOs out there and anybody who says otherwise automatically loses all credibility, as far as I'm concerned.  I consider myself firmly in the anti-looney-toons-cartoons camp.

I'm a no on both parts.  Maybe I'll just go for League of Angels.  Well, maybe not.  :-)

    1 day huh?

Why don't people like you stop posting in the ESO section? You know your opinion has/had nothing to do with the "1 day" you "supposedly" tested. No one would ever base their purchases on one beta (especially if they had read that they were doing a stress test, not a test of anywhere near the current build).

I could be wrong...but so many people who have been testing for a while actually feel sorry for us weekenders...

He never said anything about WOW's graphics. You are just assuming a lot here and by the way tastes are subjective. A lot of people enjoy WOW for its gameplay.

If you think WOW's artstyle is similar to looney toon cartoons i suggest get your eyes checked.

He is too rigid to understand something so simple that not all people treat MMO games like a singular obsession and are capable of enjoying multiple MMOS of different styles at one time.
