[Upcoming MMORPG] Life is Feudal

Life is Feudal is a sandbox MMORPG inspired by the medieval time period. In Life is Feudal players are given the opportunity to terraform the world and build villages, castles, forts, underground bases, and whatever they desire. But that's not all, if you're the barbarian type you can take to besieging forts, raiding enemies, or just taking your foes down!

FEATURES

- Terraforming & Construction | Change the world beneath your feet and then slap on over 100 different types of buildings onto it.

- Rich Crafting System | There are over 500 different items that be crafted whether it's through mining, forging, logging, construction, taming, cooking, and so the list goes on!

- Battle Formation System | Keep your units in formation and provide them with bonuses.

- No Target Combat | Fight your foes in either first or third person combat by swinging, stabbing and so forth without actually locking on.

- And much, much more to see.

There seem to be a lot of new MMORPG.COM members that really like this game. Quite a few seem to have joined just so they can tell the community how awesome this game is (or will be, if its just-launched crowdfunding appeal succeeds)...

Well this game is quite unique, so I think it's good that people are talking about it. Finally some fresh innovation, a true sandbox game that connects features of all others, that just missed some stuff.

OP you forgot to mention the game has

    full loot pvp

  • Arrakis09Arrakis09 Member Posts: 7

Yes of course it's full loot and open pvp, but there is no permanent death or anything, so if you want to store your items somewhere safe, just put them in your chest on your claimed land and nobody will be able to do anything with it. Also you can avoid any ganking by just looking poor and if needed hiding in your village, if you have fence and gates then you will be safe there.

There is also one important thing, alignment penalty system, which means that players who attack and kill other players will have that alignment penalty, and if it really drops down then in case of dying, that player killer will get very high penalty and will lose sigificant ammount of skillpoints, so people won't really have any interest in attacking others unless it's a war or taking something really valuable.

In that case open world pvp and full loot doesn't look that bad, because there will be very few player killers/assasins interested in putting themselves at risk of dying and loosing skillpoints.

Everything looks great about this game, but we also need a good combat system and not too slow. It's not because you go for the realistic approach that you must make the combat/movement look slow, boring, sluggish and clunky.

Combat system is based on Mount & Blade, but has also pretty innovative system of formations, which gives bonuses to unit members who are in this formation.

it only seems slow and clunky because you are watching someone else play a game for you.  But I can tell by watching that if your were doing it, it would be challenging and interesting.

I don't find watching chess particularly interesting either but its fun to play.

The early alpha has started this week and people were saying it was too fast lol.

The combat system is not even completely implemented yet but is much, much more responsive from the video you are referring to. The next stage is to incorporate the complete combat system, tweak all the animations and the adjust balance issues.

If you are reading this the game is worthy of your time to check it out http://lifeisfeudal.com

edit - I forgot to mention the game was greenlit on steam in 2 days. The buzz over there is extremely positive in the comments section.
