OP, have you closed this poll yet? Like you did to ESO? Or come up with what you think of the game like you did with ESO yet?

Yes most definitly will be buying this asap, after the beta weekend i saw a lot of things there that i liked.

You can close a poll? Last I checked, both are still open.

And yes. I'll come up with an in-depth, personal opinion when the game is closer to release and the NDA completely drops. For the moment it is too soon to say. How ever, at this point in time I intend to purchase this and be playing at launch. Take that how you will.

After having played the previous beta weekend I'm currently heavily leaning towards yes as long as two things happen:

    1. Optimizations happen, the game is awesome and I was having a lot of fun but it's still badly optimized, running at half the FPS of a heavily modded Skyrim. It's still closed beta so I've little doubt this will happen as the game gets closer to release but it needs to happen.

    2. They don't pull an ESO with pre-orders. I'm not going to support a P2P game that locks game content behind pay-walls. Give me a fair deal and I'll happily spend extra for the Collector's Edition. Try to nickel and dime me and I won't be spending any money at all.

But overall I really enjoyed the game. The core of the game, getting around, questing, combat, the world are all great simple fun. There were a few bugs around and the tutorial areas need some serious work as they're utter shite. Yet beyond that the game was awesome, it seems to take all the good enjoyable aspects of a solid themepark without dragging along the boring stuff that comes with that.

    We are the bunny.
    Resistance is futile.

I do love the aesthetics and the setting/lore is very borderlandish, but it doesn't change the fact that wildstar is a game you've played a thousand times before. The combat system helps but ultimately it doesn't save the game and you're going to be bored out of your mind within a week or two.

This is how it was for me. I'd been following the game for years and even visited Carbine Studio last year. But the more I've seen and played, it's the same old thing I've played before countless times. It's quite sad really.

I have tried the beta and quite enjoyed it, so I think I will buy it. However, the game definitely needs more polish and there are some performance issues. Combat is fun, but a bit clunky as animations are not smooth enough. Hopefully, they can improve those things, and infuse a little more life in the world before release.

Tried the beta, found it to be meh. More WoW-in-space than SWTOR was said to be.

  • XandorXandor Member UncommonPosts: 49

I will say I'm going to be getting this game.  Everything about it looks -- "Right" to me.  Wish I could be more clear, but I can't.

Now, Auto Assault, for me that was 'meh'.

It all depends if the deluxe version of this game allows me to play any race in either faction like other MMO now days :)

I'm not sure how long I'll stick with it, but I'll definitely play at launch. That's the most fun time to play these types of games.

depends on if they either fix performance, which currently seems to be heading in wrong direction or if maxwell releases and ill upgrade my pc by then

    No. The game was dissapointing.

Was absolutely crazy about this game....Not anymore.

I find myself paying more attention to all the crap that is all over the UI then I do the gameworld.

Not to mention I also find the telegraph system distracting (exp in PVP) and It seem I am playing that instead of my character...

Also the starting areas make you want to fall asleep, people say this is WOW in space?  WOW never made me feel like I wanted to turn it off after a hour.

Huge let down! I will try it when it goes F2P

You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith

That's my biggest problem with WildStar. As beautiful as the gaming world around you is.. you'll never look at it. Basically you're playing the UI and watching more on the feet of your character then anything else. After WildStar it felt like a trip to Hawaii to play the ESO beta. No cluttered and overboarding UI elements.. a relaxing way of enjoying the environment and so on. Maybe we're just getting old.. maybe.

Maybe if I have some extra money laying around at release, but leaning towards no since their niche end game design isn't something I find appealing.

    Nope.

Wasn't in the beta, and according to the available information, I'm not hyped at all. Once I can try it for free, I'll give it a shot, but I won't hand out money before having tested it first.

Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)

Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)

I went with no.  The game is just not my cup of tea.  I think it will do well, and I hope it does!

    Cheers!

I had way more fun while playing WS than I had in ESO, but still it wasn't what I expected. I hope the game gets better at later levels, the marketing is strong in this one ! I feel sad after comparing this poll results to the ESO poll T_T

People just go for a familiar franchise.

It's not "just the franchise" of ESO. I really enjoyed my time in their beta because it aims at oldschool RPG players. It's nowhere near a perfect game or a MMO but for a certain group of people it's a blast. And I'm in that group. I was tricked by both marketing campaigns. Early livestreams of ESO looked like shit.. WS on the other side seemed to be a neat and fun game.. well.. it's not. At least for me.

After playing 30+ hours during this weekend beta event, and having the opportunity to level through 3 different areas and spam a lot of Hycrest Insurrection, Halls of the Bloodsworn and Walatiki Temple, I can say a solid YES, I'll buy this game and play it till exhaustion as soon as it hits the shelves.

My opinion is my own. I respect all other opinions and views equally, but keep in mind that my opinion will always be the best for me. That's why it's my opinion.

Loving the beta event for wildstar, but am really sad that it will end this weekend. Sure it has bumps along the way but doesnt most betas? But ESO omg....that game gave me headaches and did not enjoy it for the most part. Yes if things go how i want them i will be playing WS!! Hope i can get in the full beta but from what i heard thats over to get into? maybe wrong dunno.

Yes.  Because housing.  At launch.  Which is as it should be.  No more homelessness, all you MMO devs.  Our characters spend too much time slaughtering, fetching, carrying, and pretty much doing everything else our NPC overlords command, we ought to at least have a humble abode to call our own and tastefully (or tastelessly as the case may be) decorate.

After this weekend, i am still not sold.

The game grew a bit more on me, but i just can't find a class that is fun and gets me hooked. Usually i frown upon any game coming up with nothing but the standard fantasy classes aka mage, hunter, necro etc. and i'm all in for a change. But unfortunately Wildstar isn't executing it's classes too well in my opinion and then there are only 6 of them.

Warrior was the most fun to me and i never play warriors. I miss a real caster and ranged combat, but mobility is mandatory and thanks to cones, everything is closed combat.

And i'm getting a bit tired about just everything in the game has this flimsy touch to it that comes with the cartoon-style. Tiny fonts, tiny icons, skinny body parts etc...
