Harebrained Schemes has announced that the Shadowrun expansion, Dragonfall, has been released. The new campaign takes place in Berlin and features about twelve hours of game play. The pricetag for the expansion comes in at a spiffy $15 but does require the original game to play. Dragonfall is available for Windows, OSX and Linux on Steam and at Good Old Games.

“The response to Shadowrun Returns was so overwhelming that it inspired us to pull out all the stops in creating Shadowrun: Dragonfall. We really did our best to listen to fans and act on their feedback,” said Jordan Weisman, founder of Harebrained Schemes and creator of the Shadowrun game universe. “We are thrilled to unveil our next story and can’t wait to see all the awesome new Shadowrun stories that the community will create with the Dragonfall expansion and the Shadowrun Editor.”

Find out more about the game on the Shadowrun: Dragonfall site.

Dragonfall is SUPPOSED to have largely fixed what Returns got wrong.  I'll be trying it.

Try to be excellent to everyone you meet. You never know what someone else has seen or endured.

I wish it is was more that it is.

BUT it is still a good game.

I just wish the player content was easier to get set up and pushed out.  Hard to find good campaigns.

There was something wrong with Shadowrun Returns?!?! Seriously, I thought it was the best RPG that I've played since KOTOR 1. I liked it alot, in the same vein as I also liked the original gold boxed games, one of the best RPG series ever made. The game is pure fun. It's got a good story and an amazing game system. Not to mention that it's turn based, and it is just done so well. I love the fact that they actually stuck to the rules of the Shadowrun table top RPG.

what exactly does this expansion bring into the game that all the modded versions did not ?

Bottom line for me other than the 'style' of the world it plays in i would rather just go play Xcom

Awards and reviews mean next to nothing to me i have watched MMO's win awards left and right....in the middle of a mass exodus of it's player base or.....games win hundreds of awards even before it's out.

    hmm..

Shadowrun: Dragonfall will arrive on February 27th, 2014 for Windows, OSX, and Linux and will sell for $14.99. The title is currently available for pre-order on Steam and a DRM-free version will be available on GOG.com.

I'm digging the DRM-free version, but no retail box?

Why? Xcom and Shadowrun are nothing like aside from the fact that they are turn based. It's apples and oranges. One is strategy the other is role playing with an involved story.

It brings "save where you want" option. That  alone is worth everything.

Waiting for a steam sale again to pick up SR. But based upon this(article) and recalling that there was somebody doing a mmo for Shadowrun, I decided to do some digging again to see if they have changed from the whole multiplatform isometric turn based idea. They haven't.

This saddens me. The old SNES and Sega games were great, obviously restricted by the tech of the day, but for what the had, they really brought the feel of the PnP game to the consoles of that generation. The SR Returns game is a throw back to that generation, and that is great for what it is, a single player modable experience. To make the "MMO" in such a similar way...I just don't get it.

The world of Shadowrun has such potential for the MMO genre. I could see it doing well in both a themepark and sandbox style (sandpark?). I believe I have said it before, I hope both the games do well enough that a developer with some capital will take the ip and turn it into a MMO worthy of the Shadowrun name. (yes, my glasses are rose-tinted from the many game sessions playing the PnP)
