Skill lines and calculators (updated 3/18/14)

edited December 2015 in Elder Scrolls Online

Now that NDA has lifted, I'll keep adding links to Skill line descriptions and calculators as I become aware of them.

First of all, a huge thanks to the Tamriel Foundry (http://tamrielfoundry.com/) THE, premiere ESO fan site, for being the first to post this without breaking NDA.

Eldersouls, another fan site was full of NDA breaches including leaked videos, etc. I've been aware of their rather good skill database project for a long time but I didn't link it before for obvious reasons. This one now also includes the Werewolf and Vampire skill lines. It can be found here:  http://eldersouls.com/elder-scrolls-online/skills

This list of skills is nicely laid out and seems to be more accurate than the others...nicely laid out too:  http://elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/Skills (Thanks to Castielle101 for this one)

Class build articles

From the Tamriel Foundry: DragonknightTemplar, SorcererNightblade

Skill Calculators:

Putting this one on top. It's the best and most complete Build Planner so far: http://esocalc.com/  (thanks to HighMarshall for the heads-up)

A couple of months ago someone developed an outstanding skill calculator UI that lets you theorycraft builds a bit. Here it is: http://skillcalc.massyx.de/

EDIT: an even better skill calculator - http://esohead.com/calculator/skills

Edit: a 3rd calculator at the Mostly Harmless Guild site that also looks pretty good (thanks to gestalt11 for finding this one): http://skills.tesotools.com/

And a 4th one (thanks GW2Life) http://teso.mmorpg-life.com/eso-skill-calculator/

A word of caution: Some of this info is incomplete and dated. Every beta weekend there are many changes to all of these abilities as they balance them preparing for launch. So take them for what they are, early efforts, and especially take the hard numbers (Magika or Stamina cost, range, damage numbers, CC length, etc.) with a grain of salt.

I'll keep adding links and making edits as needed as I become aware of changes.

NOTE: the Tamriel Foundry links below is the original pre-NDA list from this thread.

Tough the info is not set in stone and might change before release

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

Yeah. There might be tweaks based on beta - there always is - but I doubt it will change too much between now and release. Besides, some of this stuff also changes long after release... as you just saw in LOTRO.

A lot of the descriptions use terms like "a lot", "moderate", "some", etc. There's a lot of room there for the underlying math to change based on balancing.

    Been using this:

Not up to date according to the site but nice to look through everything at once.

    Thanks for sharing !

We could look into each classes/weapons/guilds details to get the rough idea of what are they about. However, I believe that these info should be changed when the game releases for sure, but only a slight change. However, the change in skill ablilities or whatever always change in MMO. So, nothing to be serioud about.

I'd heard skills have further morphs on them? Can anyone confirm that or is it still part of the lvl 15+ NDA still in effect?

Edit : Found the answer, just 1 morph although further morphs may be added in future updates.

I like that one. Seems to have less mistakes than the others....

    ... not today ...

    Thanks.

Yeah the ESOhead calculator is designed very well but is fraught with inaccuracies. Still a great resource if you just use common sense, ie Mages Guild and staff skills use Magicka obviously. Some misplaced skills as well, and some descriptions with out of place values, but nothing that cannot be reasoned out by simple extrapolation.

So good. Bring on April. Vindication! Excelsior!

    Hello everyone,

I want to share with you my ESO calculator http://teso.mmorpg-life.com/eso-skill-calculator/

I'm working on the implementation of the second skill bar since you can switch your weapons once you reach lvl 15.

I hope you will find it useful

Nadia that is an excellent calculator. Thanks for posting this. I've already added it to my Favorites and am using it to work on builds. One suggestion is for the morphs, maybe you could show the CHANGE of the morphed effect from the base effect in red, because some of the skill descriptions are so long it gets confusing.

Anyway, I really like it - the layout reminds me of the game which is great. Thanks!

    Elladan - ESO (AD)
    Camring - SWTOR (Ebon Hawk)
Eol & Justinian - Rift (Faeblight)
Ceol and Duri - LotRO (Landroval)
    Kili - WoW
    Eol - Lineage 2
    Camring - SWG
    Justinian (Nimue), Camring - DAoC

Actually it is coming along nicely. I first followed the link on my tablet and it didn't work well there. I'll add it to the list at the top.

I'm really glad Eol that you liked it and found it useful. I have to polish a few bugs with a second skill bar tonight, and then I'll try to implement your suggestion. I'll let you know if I manage to do that.

I found this one from the ESO news letter.

    http://esocalc.com/

I like it so far. Once you have all the skills you want, just left click a hotbar slot to bring up a list of actives to slot there.

Wow! Nice one...best so far I think. I just wish they highlighted what the change in the morph is like they do in game or at ESOhead... still, a great find. Thanks.

Here is another one. It has the the potential to be the best one yet. It is still a work in progress.

A more refined version of all skills in Eso you can find here: http://www.tesoelite.com/elder-scrolls-online-skills/

Just click on what skill line you're interested in. It also includes morphs (mouse over the spell's name) and everything else. Enjoy!
