I will not be buying it. I'll save my money for wildstar.
Reasons in order of importance: (impressions Ive received from watching ZOS youtube videos on the game from quakecon, etc)...
1. Combat: slow, clunky, unresponsive
2. Quests look horrible. Questing looks like a lot of chatting with NPCS and little actual combat.
3. Paygate they said wouldn't be in the game...but it is.
4. Im weary how much support ZOS will give to adding more voice acted quests. GW2, which does draw in a large sum of money being f2p, abandoned a lot of their voice acted content because the production cost was too high. ZOS has spent, most likely, a boat load more $$ in development for ESO and all of their quests are voice acted. Curious to see how they support this and keep the game quality moving forward...very weary.
5. I think this game will go the way of SWTOR in a year. So I'll wait.
Game will go the way of SWTOR, no doubt in my mind. It comes down to whether you're still OK after all these years of MMO failures to continue dropping $60-$80 upfront plus a monthly sub fee to play a game that will likely go F2P within a year. I've played in all the betas and I can't wait to give my full opinion with a list of all of the ways Zenimax took such great potential and wasted it. It's not the worst MMO I've ever played by a long shot, but it's not worth the sub fee and the pre-order exclusives make it a blatant attempt at a cash grab. People will pour their money into the game pre-order as they want to have access to all races/factions and the Imperial exclusive. That nets Zenimax a lot of upfront money. But they won't stop there, they aren't going to make it unfair to other players who didn't pre order the game. They will DEFINITELY release Imperials AND the faction/race Explorer's Pack to their cash shop post-release so that other players can spend EXTRA money to get on par with everyone else because they were too cautious to pre-order the game.
Honestly I don't understand why anyone is ANYTHING other than outraged about the pre-order exclusives. They spent the time to make it a faction based game, and then at the last minute basically decided to say screw the factions, spend your money upfront now and you can be whoever you want to be.
I used to be like this..couldn't resist the shiny new MMOS. I just had to have them all. But now i have learned to wait atleast for 6 months after release. Majority of people here who are so excited will fill the forums with complaints and how they regret their purchase. Its like a vicious cycle which does not end.

It will probably depend on what platform my friends get it on, but that will probably one of the consoles which puts me out of it. While certain aspects of the game intrigue me, it doesn't stack up to the hype imo. I didn't get to that magic spot in the game though where it's supposed to really become fun though so who knows.

Welcome to beta, you're there so this stuff happens;)

thing is the problems they had in beta shouldn't happen in a beta, betas are still controlled, you know how many will log.
thing is if ou really wnat to play this game wait at least 6 months, anything sooner and you guys will rage.
also elder scrolls will not be the game of the year, will not be best game ever, it will be a game, cursed for a rough launch day, long lines, and MMORPG forums full of people crying and others saying I told you so.(like all launches), serious the best launch days was from korean games who was not hyped at all.
I preordered the Physical IE for PC from gamestop....but...if I am perfectly honest I am still on the fence. I'd share why I have this hate/love relationship but ..NDA.

Ohh so much this. If it wasn't for the TES swag coming with the physical CE I wouldn't bother.

I always thought the faction locks were unnecessary in the first place, so my only problem with that move is with how it was handled. And while it did annoy me, it wasn't enough to put me off the game.
But it's the first MMO where I heard my wake-up alarm go off before I was ready to quit since Eve. And it's literally the only themepark-style MMO where that's happened to me. So I'm in.
if it was a b2p i would bought it, might and the CE cause it has awesome stuff inside, but from the beta, i dont mention the lag but the queue mechanic for a mega smart server in the year 2014 ...
also Angry is the casual hater, but his critic about the gameplay was pretty correct and i felt the same ...
so no i dont spend my few money on this, i prefer buy gold in World of Tanks than buy this which after a month it wont be available, the Tank will be ..!
I had my doubts that the game would be good but after playing and pushing to level 10 then trying alliance war I have pre-ordered it was a goddamn blast I just hope they can get the game rdy for release bug wise but ya I am def a believer now was super fun game, the more I played the more I wanted to play more same cant be said for many games recently.
Im a diehard Elder Scrolls fan who will be buying based off of 2 things. First I love all things Elder Scrolls, Ive been playing since I was a kid and I remember learning how to make my first autoexec.bat file for DOS so I could run Arena. Ive played all the way through. Morrowind and Skyrim are absolutely the 2 most played games for me. I bet the amount of time Ive spent playing those is 100 times more than any other game. I didnt love Oblivion but it was ok. That being said ESO is kind of like Oblivion all over again. Its like the less refined Skyrim. Still the graphics are stunning. I have to LOL at everyone who says they are unimpressive. I was playing on Ultra at about 50fps and theres not another MMO out there that is even close IMO, TERA I think is closest graphics wise. Rift is ok, still nowhere near as pretty as TESO. But I digress. The other reason I will buy and try it at least for the 1st month is because the monthly subscriptions hopefully keeps it to just diehard ES fans and trade chat wont be a contest on who can say the dumbest sh*t. I know Il be enjoying the ES experience with diehard fans. So for a month or two I will try and buy and hope that what I saw was an early build and improvements will steadily be made. Still if they keep making no mention of adding player housing and arenas, which are two big parts of ES games, then I will be going back to WOW and then probably eventually Wildstar, as I think the exclusion of those 2 things is what hurts the most about TESO. All though I have to admit, every monday I have to go back to WOW hurts more and more. Its like waking up in the morning next to someone after the beer goggles wore off........
Bought it (pr-Ordered the collectors edition) I almost always fell for it when they include a statue with it .... Plus the lore book looks really nice. When it gets me hooked for a couple of months I think it's worth it..... Have some other titles on the horizon I am looking forward to more, like Wildstar and EQ next. But the last one I believe we will not go live this year.
Originally posted by st3v3b0 I'll wait until the box price is on sale (say around $30) and the game goes F2P. It is not worth $60 plus monthly subscription at this point.
I totally agree with the above. I always give games the benefit of the doubt and try the beta before making up my mind. It is just not worth the price and it is not immersive or exciting. It would be just another game to play a bit, thrown in with the others I play.

Didnt even try the beta although i got two invites.
i am loving the game so much that i bought game.
i can't wait for it to release.
Elder Scrolls Online FTW
I played it and go to lvl 3 and I was bored out of my mind. Very bland and non immersive.
I really wanted to enjoy the game but it's just not very alluring to me.
I might reconsider after 1 year or so but for now TESO is a no go.
I will not be buying it. I'll save my money for wildstar.

Yes, I'll be enjoying a 5 day headstart for launch.
If it's not broken, you are not innovating.
I laughed after trying out the beta ... and then immediately deleted it from my HD.
