I have heard a lot of good things about guild wars.  The fact that it is free is awesome!  Do you guys think I should get it?

Yes. Depends on what you like of course, but you should check out some reviews for it. It's great.

Please read the other threads of this forum b4 deciding what to do. (e.g. "Which edition to choose" and "Give this game a shot?" threads).  And perhaps learn more about the game/gameplay first.  One of the best ways (for me) is I look at screen shots, the story line, the online info (such as the manual and how to play guide) about the game the official website gives and lastly some reviews and forums about the game.

Its always better to try and make sure that you will like and enjoy the game before spending some hard earned cash on it.  You dont want to pay $50 for the game, find out you dont like it and then look for another and spend more money for it and so on.

Well bro, figure it like this, You get what you pay for.

Not to sound horrible, but I don't believe this game should even be considered an MMO.

The leveling in this game is ridiculous, its 100% instanced. You might as well be playing PS2 or XBOX360. It just wasn't my cup of coffee. Not to offend anyone who likes this game for what it is, it's just I dont see how they can develop this game further without charging monthly sooner or later. I always thought in the back of my mind that this whole, No monthly fee crap they are going on about so much, was just a trap to get people to start playing develop their characters AND then charge people a monthly fee later down the way, cause people wouldn't want to loose all that they worked for. And would end up paying the monthly fee.

It was just of recently I discovered not everyone thinks as evilly as me, and they aren't going to charge.

So without anymore income, I don't see this game holding out for years and years like REAL mmo's. This game was really created for all the 13 year olds, or sadly enough all the 35 year olds living in their parents house still not working. If you enjoy, EXTREME Casual game play, Im talking like 30mins - 1 hour play time a day, then this game may be for you. If your looking for a game that goes way more in depth and has alot of content, and will hold your attention like a MMO should, this is not a game for you. Thats all i got to say about that,

I would recommend not buying this game, just hold out till better mmo's are released, more are coming out soon -p

Waiting on Vanguard myself, well whatever you decide, hopefully that gives you a more full picture of what to expect.
