Is it just me or has this forum grown a massive amount lately?

I remember waiting weeks just for a new post or thread to pop up on here, all of a sudden there's a ton of people about.....

Why the influx?

Was there a new media promotion about fallen earth which has made new people interested in it?

SWGs NGE?

Personally I force every single person I talk to into taking a look at this game ::::20::

YEs the game has gotten a bit mroe active.

Part of it was the NGE in swg, part of it was the most recent FE newsletter.

and part is just word of mouth, and general excitement.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I came here after seeing the game listed on betawatcher.com and looking it up.

Yeah, the forum's really changed since it started. Pretty much the only posters who have been regulars since the very beginning and are still here are me and cthuluvong. And even I took a break from it for a while.

Way more active now than it ever has been though, and I love it ::::02::

To be honest, I spent most of my time playing SWG or posting about it.  I would check FE's site here and there, but that was about it.  When SWG went into the toilet, I came here to take a more active role as I wait for it to come out.

You guys aren't the only ones who have noticed. All the devs are now reading this almost daily. It's rare to have a strategy discussion anymore without someone bringing up posts from this forum.

Thanks to you all for a ton of mature, professional commentary. Keep it up, but pace yourselves. We're cranking away as fast as we can, but there's still a ton to do.

Well its great to hear that you're all reading here, and personally I find it down right amaizing at the amount of interaction that you have all given us. To know you're reading and discussing this really makes the players feel great. Keep it up ::::28::

And I guess we can pace ourselves, but we can't wait and we have so few ideas about whats going to be in the game that we keep speculating. We know you have a ton to do, and we can't wait ::::02::

Definitely, can't agree with you more Cthul. It's exciting to hear that our opinions and ideas are an important tool for the devs as they build FE. I can't wait either!

I'm dreaming of a nuclear-winter next year. Well, simulated I mean hehe If that is even a possibility in the geographic regions of FE. image

I've told prolly around thirty people about this game in the past month.... hehe i love it and its not even out yet... I mean with a dev squad this interactive you can't not get psyched... I think a big part of why its growing so fast is because now that people know that the devs are acctually listening to us in the creation stage we want to make this game everything we ever hoped for.

I am glad to hear the DEVs care about their commuity and are at least listening and talking about other alternitives they might not have thought of.  I worked on the phone with a few of SOE CSR management staff on severalissues during my time in SWG, and I was extremely suprised to learn just how many employees do NOT play the game they are supporting.

It's a double-edged sword. If the developers listen too much to the players, content will become bland. Example: due to people whining about something, it gets nerfed. If it's truly unbalanced, then yes, the devs should fix it. But once things start changing just to keep the whiners satisfied... well... we're all seeing first hand how well that's working out for SOE.

That is one of the reasons SWG took a dump off the MMORPG map.  To many people crying they want Jedi, so they give it to everyone.  And eventually, GIVE IT to everyone as a starter class.  It would all depend where the developers are in their coding.  If they coded PvP system A, and we are talking about PvP system B, then production and release would be greatly delayed for months if not years redoing all the stuff they just coded.

I think all the brain storming here is mainly because most don't have any direction to go in, but rather a broad overview of ideas they just take and run with.  As soon as the DEVs allow more info on specific systems they are using, profiles or templates...we will have a better idea of what we are talking about. image

Good call Atheraal. I hope the devs aren't taking all of what we say into the designing of FE. Though almost all the player idea's Ive read so far are purdy darn good, just like starting as a jedi, getting everything you want doesn't always make the game better. Im sure the devs know what they are doing though.
