So is Everquest Landmark still launching 'by the end of 2013'?

     Yeah,  the before Feb. 28 2013 on the  Alpha packs leaves roughly about 84ish days that you could get access to the game.

    Seriously, I must have missed something. I always thought it was going to be released March 31 2014. Did I miss something? I wish it was going to be released this year, but all I have read for the last year or so said a 2014 expected release for Landmark.

    Landmark was supposed to be this year.
    Everquest Next next year.

    I'm not to into this game much, since it has nothing to do with everquest except in namesake.  I've seen a few things that SOE always does, and some new things as well.  If you want to measure what Smedley says when it comes to timeframes, double it and that's your answer :)

     

    My guess would be around Feb or March 2014

     People have brought up and consider Feb 2014, to be part of winter 2013...Their are two different quotes that people are working from though.  One involves EQ:N, and I can assume we are safe to say that is not coming out in the time frames either way though.  The next is winter 2013, so that one seems to be holding up, technically, as winter 2013 starts December 21st 2013.

    I hope they get it right before release. That is my concern. There are many companies that rush an unfinished game out to the masses before it.s ready.

    I went to SOE Live, and I don't remember him saying "it will release this year".  I recall him saying that we'll have something to play this winter, which as people have pointed out; is 12/21 to 3/19 (roughly).  Now, the implied reasoning was a release, but since he didn't come out and say it; it is possible he meant alpha/beta.

    Let's be fair, Winter 2013 means 12/21-3/19.  If you go based upon how others are viewing it, that would mean 1/1/13-3/19/13, or 12/21/13-12/31/13..

    Smed did say this year at SOE Live

    but both SOE press release and Georgeson gave a generic Winter -- when first announced

    I would rather have a quality release than any kind of rushed release just to make profits or because they promised some date.I think we all have seen our fair share of underachieving games out of the box,it is like devs now figure to make 50% of a game and release it,then add in stuff later and tell us what a great job they are doing adding in content afterwards.

    Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
