I pretty much took my guardian, filled up the Defender of Free tree, arranged my skills to as close to what they were before and fit in the new skills.
Then I started up a familiar skirmis but 3 levels below my level so it was easy. I then. worked through it until I figured out how the new skills worked with the old and got a feel for the character. I did this twice.
Did the same with the Keen Blade tree and was good to go after that.

I rolled a new LM and so far it's been pretty fun. Dps is really good and even my pet bear hits like a truck. Granted, I only made it to lvl 8 and things may change, but from I heard LM was a bit of a slog early on.

It doesn't feel different to me at all, maybe at higher levels you notice it more.
I like the changes so far. Have been playing LOTRO since the game was out six months (SoA). My LM traited for pet mode is unreal. My pet has 21k health and just kicked the crap out of a mob that was 5 levels higher last night...wasn't even close. I just stood and watched. Have not tried out the burg, hunter, or cappy yet. Takes a long time to sort out trees and put points back into legendaries on 7 characters (have lower level mini, rk, and guardian).

I played my 65 champion and the combat is faster and animations seem a little more fluid

Doesn't feel much different at 85.
Combat in some cases feels faster and there are some new moves for new skills but I think it's more of an animation refresher than an animation overhaul.

I logged on my 85 Champ, emptied my hotbars, filled the Deadly Storm tree and started again from there.
I was wondering about hybrid builds (like in Rift) but can't see how than improve on a specialist build. Anyone tried one? I suppose a few guides will come along soon.

I agree combat isn't faster, but it feels more fun with new effects, champ AOE skils are excellent.
Im playing my 85 burg in the Mischief Maker line and really cant tell a huge difference. Perhaps other classes play differently but I cant understand all the hate about these changes. I honestly cant even tell if it plays faster. Feels the same to me, just less skills crowding my hotbar. No problems here.

Yeh I fired up my 65 guardian with a two-hander and the combat still feels about the same speed as before. I haven't noticed much different either about the animations. Just newer visual effects. It's kind of weird to have so many different bleed effects now though with overpower.
