Need help clarifying the unsubbing/ account deactivation

borockborock Member Posts: 42
So I have to unsub from the game unfortunately (I really enjoy the game, just getting busy the next few months), and I am wondering if I need to cancel my subscription after the 30 days free trial? I know in WoW and SWTOR it was a fairly straight forward process. I have since deactivated my square service FF14 account, and cannot log into the game, tho I have 6 days left on my free trial. I am just really trying to prevent from being automatically charged after my 30 days of game time. Google isn't help much, so I was wondering if anyone could help clear up how exactly you unsub from the game, and what are the differences between deactivating your square enix account, and unsubbing? Confusing since after deactivating, there is just literally a reactivate button that doesnt seem to do anything. Thanks in advance for any help/tips/explanations!

All you need to do is to go to the mog station and log in with your account details. Then once there look for the auto renew feature and deactivate it. You wont loose your character and your game will be in frozen mode until you add more time, I so hope that this helps you. :)

Thank you for the response. When I click on the autmatic Renewal button, it asks me to set up my subscription method. There is no cancel auto renew option. Does that just mean that automatic renewal isn't set up and doesnt need to be canceled? Confusing in wording and such.

Go the Mog Station (https://secure.square-enix.com/account/app/svc/mogstation/) --> Login ---> Click on Account Services -> Scroll down and click on the "Cancel Automatic Renewal" button.  If you want to close your account (you can activate it later) you can click on the Cancel Service Account button.

If you've not set up an automatic renewal, you don't need to do anything.  You don't have to subscribe to activate the "free" first month.

You do NOT deactivate your account, that should ALWAYS remain ...forever.You cancel your content ID's,look to stop the subscription fees.

If you cancel your account, that account will be lost. After that happens, you could maybe try to make a new account and try to re-enter the codes but i doubt will work because all your game codes will be registered to the account you cancel.I would say that is why you could not login even though you still had 6 days left.

You  should  not make decisions so hasty, you make mistakes like that,it is only a 15 dollar sub fee,i have left it running for months in the past while not even playing.Anyhoot, you are not the first, you might want to call them by phone, however that costs money, sounds like you are worried about money,so only other recourse is to go to the online support and make sure your account is not lost forever.Usually you can reactivate an account if not cancelled for too long.

FFXIV doesn't use Content IDs like FFIX does.  Instead you create a Service Account and you can cancel and reactivate that service account without having to create a new service account.

No, if you cancel your service account, it will not be lost forever.
