    I'd say this is most likely the controller.

    My guess is that it will be a gamepad with a trackball.

    did ya'll not see the silhouette of the cat in the lower corner?  it's pretty obvious its a way for your cat to play with you.

    I'm guessing either controller or some sort of easy stream ability for twitch and youtube.

    The second announcement makes mention that the next announcement would be about "Input", so there's a high chance that it will be a controller. Should also be noted that Valve has been known for testing biometrics and how they could use it with controllers, meaning that if we're lucky, we might get a rather interesting announcement.

     

    Valve has also been known to be working on Source Engine 2, so if its not announced today, it will probably be announced around the same time as those AAA titles Valve mentioned, and ...Half-Life 3 SteamOS exclusive...I'm sure of it.

    The controller is hackable. From the FAQ on the SteamMachine, it's hackable too. Take it apart, run your own software on it, whatever.

    I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

    Heisenburg and Schrodinger were riding in a car. A cop pulled them over and said to Heisenburg, "Do you know how fast you were going" ?  Heisenburg said, "No, but is can tell you where the car is".  The cop decided to search the car. He opened the trunk and said, " Hey !, do you know you have a dead cat in the trunk ?" Schrodinger said, " I do now".

    Heard that joke a while back and to tell it. :)

    Or maybe Valve's new mascot is Schrodinger from the Hellsing Ultimate OVA series.

    Wait, he's dressed in a Hitlerjugend outfit throughout the series. That would be a bad idea...

    On a serious note, the controller looks neat but I'm skeptical. One thing I like about dual analog sticks is the feedback & resistance they have; I would need to give Valve's incarnation a try before any sort of purchase. The X360 style controller, with the exception of the so-so D-pad, is to me about as good as such a thing can get.
