what is everquest next landmark?

So basically we have this landmark thing releasing in winter.

So is landmark just a scaled down of Everquest next? or is it a completely different game. So people who can't wait can start playing landmark first?

While it shares a lot of things with EQN, it is separate and is a way for players to design things (structures, areas, maybe items) that could make it into EQN when it launches as well as selling them to other players to purchase later on.
Won't be a fleshed out mmorpg, just the foundation along with tools usually only available to devs.

Land.ark is a stand-alone game, that will take the place of games like Minecraft. Which will feed the content for EQn when it comes out in 2015.

It is a seperate game that is based on one of the development tools of EQN, but includes several designs and mechanics that will later be included in EQN as well. It's not focused on being a fantasy adventure roleplaying game, but rather focuses on the aspect of building and shaping the game world with the provided tools. It will include the mechanics for social interaction typical to MMOs, like chat between players, and a guild system.
