(Mods... I know you could put this in the UO forums... But I want this to get as much attention as it can get! SO here it is...)
If Ultima Online was free to play, (cashshop.) would you play it? I feel the world is pretty empty now...This would get more people to play.
( It has the best pvp in any game...in my book.)
Sometimes its good to think deep. Some times it good just to play games.

I Want this to get all the way to the top of E.A. (Bastards!)

Claims to be a hardcore gamer, doesn't know what Maze War is.
Original Ultima Online would get utterly destroyed in today's market. None of the systems provided any sort of depth and it would have to be developed to provide anything meaningful with today's players. Even the older players wouldn't touch it because they pretty much been there and done it. It would have to offer something new or at a minimum, something deeper. The world is absolutely tiny comparatively and cannot support that many players, it would require much expansion. The combat system alone would need a complete rehaul. The amount of changes that Ultima Online would need to even be remotely competitive as a niche MMO would turn it into a entirely new game.
Just updating its look wouldn't be enough...not even close.
No. UO is a bad game (for me). I wouldn't care one way or another.
All I want is a classic UO experience with a modern or enhanced client.
Whether its a player run or EA hosted shard is immaterial to me.
The above is my personal opinion. Anyone displaying a view contrary to my opinion is obviously WRONG and should STHU. (neener neener)

A F2P progression server akin to Fippy Darkpaw, with Enhanced Client support, would likely be overpopulated from the word go.
Never happen though, this is EA we're talking about. Warhammer still requires a sub to play, for all 8 people that still play that game.
When asked about the possibility of Warhammer going free to play at a teleconference following a recent gaming convention, the CEO of Electronics Arts, John Riccitiello, said "What? We still own Warhammer? And the servers are actually OPEN???"
