i kinda wanted to be the poor wandering and begging scholar, but apparently i must be one or the other.
hm. i do like calligraphy. do you have to be a particular school to learn I Ching?

No, anyone can learn calligraphy.
Wait, you should be able to beg and be a calligrapher I think. I think the 3 market profession are begging, divination, and weqi. Secondary are Musician, Scholar, Painter.
I'm pretty sure of this, but if not you could join the Scholar school and beg, or join the beggars and write
edit - well you be a member of the scholar school but that doesn't mean you can write.

You know what? NO you do not have to join a school. That's a hard row to hoe though. I saw someone the other day who was schoolless. He had Jianghu (of the world not of school i nthis sense) skills, and internal. At first I thought it was a graphical bug with name plates, it wasn't. He was a schooless player.
