I purchased a digital download from Steam yesterday morning.  I registered the key through the TSW account and linked the game to Steam.  I can access my TSW account, but whenever I try to login to the game I get the message "unable to connect to the authentication server."  I tried changing my game password multiple times and waited over 30 minutes to login.  I get the same message.  I spoke to a nice lady in live chat who told me I would have to talk to a tech specialist.  From what she said, the problem is on my end.  So, I sent an e-mail to support 9 hours ago and haven't heard back yet.  I tried to login after attempting the following:  disabling windows firewall, allowing communication in steam and The Secret World in my firewall, disabling Norton Antivirus, running a scan and repair of files from the game launcher, running the patch file as an administrator, running the launcher as an administrator, and changing from full screen view to borderless window.  I have searched the internet forums for solutions.  What else can I do?  I spent $30 for the game to play.  It's been almost two days and I've been reading on the forums that e-mail support doesn't even respond.  Anyone else have this issue?  Please help.

    join the club. one reason it tanked is because it didn't work for half the people who bought it.

    did you try downloading the game outside of steam, directly from FC them self?

    Ive had a simular problem with global agenda through steam but it worked perfectly fine using Global agenda directly downloaded from Hi-rez directly. Which enabled me to launch the game/patcher without having to bother with steam.

    I haven't tried deleting the game yet and reinstalling outside of Steam. I'm not even sure I can do that.  I will let you know how it goes.  Wish me luck!  I don't want to join the club "pay to not play".

    I wish I could garantee it to work, but it should. Like I said before I have had this problem before (Not just global agenda) and apparently some file didnt get through or came through currupted from steam, why I dont know.

    Technically speaking you bought the game and the key is registered to your FC acount, Steam "should"be nothing but the vendor.

    have you tried changing your pwd?

    Thank you Panthiem!  Your solution worked.  I deleted the files and downloaded directly from my account.  I was able to get in!  You should work as Funcom support.  Your response time is much better (it's been over 24 hours and I still haven't heard back from them) and your idea worked.  Big hugs to you!

    Im glad you are finally able to play. Hopefullly you'll enjoy the game as much as I do.

    2nd word of advise, starting with one make sure you get a 2nd weapon so you can use 2 finishers once you unlocked them.
