SWG was GREAT until the devs started screwing around with it. I am all for having devs on hand during the game to help with things.. and to address serious exploitation issues. What I do have a problem with is changing and rearanging everything we have come to know and love about the game.
People will always find ways to exploit. If an exploit can be shown to give a seriously unfair advantage then it should be changed. But just because someone finds a niche in the game which gives them incredible wealth/power/abilities... that doesnt make it an exploit. Its good game playing. Dedicated and intelligent players are always going to find ways to be successfull. Its what seperates the elite from the average joe. As soon as you start modifying the game to place all players on 'level ground' you remove the fun and incentive to excel.
I would like to hear from the devs about how they plan to implement interventions and what the overall attitude and policy will be regarding patches, exploits, and player experiences.

I can't agree more. I loved playing SWG before the inevitable SOE fixes as they call them. From the email responses I have received from Icarus on questions and concerns, they don't sound like they will fall in with that. But, I'm sure we'll have nerfs and such, since that is the nature of MMPORGs.
But, I agree with you, it's always a sad day when they nerf something you have come to love.

What would be new to a company, is to actually listen to the community and act on what the majority of people are liking or not liking. Instead of these fake marketing polls from 90yr old people who don't play or care about the game telling them what woudl be a good idea.
To many times I see SOE CLAIM they are hearing the words of the community and changing the game to conform to those needs. Now, granted, I played only on Flurry......but if I find the server that they are talking about that nerfed the bases, the CU, the NGE and the countless Jedi nerfs....I am going to beat someone.
